NASL. I enjoy the show and its certainly not your fault DeMuslim couldn't make the match. I wont comment on the noshow until I have heard Benjamin's side of the story.

However, its simply not right you advertise an event 'DeMuslim v Hero' right up to the last moment when you know its untrue. To get a few extra viewers for 45 minutes + replays I guess, compared to risking your customer bases ire seems fuzzy logic and has been stated previously unethical.

Would like an apology and a committment to not repeating it.

Thank you

Just want to apologise to those who showed up to watch the matches expecting me to be there. I tried to reschedule a few days before the match as "something" came up - i didn't get a response back, my message went through so i assumed things were fine. I received a phone call minutes before my match was to be played saying i'd be walkovered if i didn't play within the next 30 minutes. Well - i was in a different country and a plane journey away from my PC. - I then got told rescheduling isn't allowed unless it's a major tournament, i should have looked through the rules and made sure for definite, but without getting a response i assumed everything was fine ( i asked for the game to be played just a few days later ). And of course, i'm not allowed to announce to people any results, and warn them to not show up in advance as to not waste their time, i was kind of in a bad position, so i do apologise to those who showed up and wanted to see the games, i couldn't have prevented that from happening given NASL ruling. Sorry.

Also a separate apology to Hero, i spoke to him at IPL and spoke to him about what happened, i assumed NASL would have also told him i wasn't going to be able to make it and save his time, unfortunately they didn't, and he did stay up.

Koreans played last season and topped their groups, HuK is playing it from Korea, and Fenix cries here after he loses one game. Some people never change.

Good to hear a statement from a player regarding a situation like this, sorry it didn't work out but GL in IPL!

Sounds like NASL need to get their act together. Not responding to you earlier, and still getting Hero to turn up, as well as LYING to everyone watching... Its just going to lose trust. Shame, as I thought NASL2 really improved over season 1. You better win the rest of your games Ben, you deserve top spot Div 1.

What the hell? How is NASL 2 not considered a major tournament? NASL really needs to learn that they need to accommodate players a little bit more than they currently are.

Well, as much as I like DeMu, it is still partially his fault.

The worst part though would have been getting Hero to stay up, I'm a little disappointed they didn't tell him. Other than that you can't find that much fault with what NASL did, they should've responded more quickly as well but the rules were available for DeMu to see.

EDIT: I do highly appreciate that DeMu posted in this thread though. Many props.

Thanks for the reply and clarification DeMuslim. NASL really should be trying to do rescheduling where possible, especially seeing as this is one of the most anticipated and important matches of the season, such a shame it didn't get played and they wasted HerO's and viewers time.

lol @ the drama queens in this thread saying they won't support NASL anymore because of this. Honestly, it's not a big deal at all. You missed out on one series - boo hoo. No need to be so sensitive.

"Regarding the DeMuslim Walkover and NASL Reschedules"

About a day prior to his match, DeMuslim messaged NASL in regards to not being able to make his match.

What normally happens when a player requests a reschedule is that we immediately contact the other party to notify them and try to find an appropriate time for a reschedule. We then go back to the player requesting the reschedule and verify the time. After this process has occurred, we officialize the time, and send an email to both players confirming the reschedule. Players are aware of this and know that a reschedule has not occurred until they receive that email. A lack of any response from us should indicated that a follow up is needed because we always respond to such notices.

Numerous players' schedules have been accommodated through this process.

What had happened in DeMuslim's case is that his message had not gone through, as later confirmed by one of the EG managers. Because he only attempted to contact us once (the message failed to go through) and did not follow up, we had no way of knowing he would not make his match. When his match started and he was not there, we contacted his manager and some of his teammates to get in contact with him, but were unsuccessful.

We (NASL and HerO) waited the required 45 minutes, after which a walkover was issued.

More than anything, it's an unfortunate and unlucky circumstance for everybody involved, but such is the case in the modern world where technology isn't always 100% reliable.

Nevertheless, we wish DeMuslim the best in the rest of the league and all his other tournament endeavors.

Sigh. DeMuslim says a few days before. NASL says the day before. Demuslim says the message went through. NASL says the message didn't go through.

Maybe if NASL didn't constantly show the need to disparage players when match conflicts arose in order to make themselves look the victim, I would believe them. But that's not the case so I am going to believe Demuslim.

it being a few days (which can be 2) or it being just 1 day can be a result of timezone differences (not sure which country he was in).

I like how NASL wrote quite a long statement and didn't cover why they didn't tell people beforehand that that match was a forfeit though - it's really not very honest to keep people excited.

Super mannered response. I think you both will make the playoffs easily, so perhaps we'll get to see this match then!

Agree that if it was known three days ago, keeping the match on the schedule is disingenuous. Given that these games are recorded so far in advance and SC2 players are great people, were there no other exceptional rescheduling options?

Seems a bit of a case of rules and miscommunication getting in the way of user experience. People are paying for matches and with such an anticipated one, a 'can-do' approach might have made it work for everyone. Kudos to DeMuslim for letting people know at the earliest he could.

A majority of games are not filmed very far in advance, we have done it with a few matches in order to accommodate people's busy schedules (especially in October).

Also I want to apologize for not announce walk overs prior to matches... I will make sure that we announce whether a match will be a walk over from now on. Thanks again <3!
