Yeah, seems like it. Really strange that he pushed out without it though. I don't know. Seems like he probably should have waited, but then again, Oz's expo would have really kicked in by then.
He could have researched it in the time he took to attack. He built no second colossus, no thermal lance, rambled around in the middle of the map for ages, attacked with half his army repeatedly, then wandered into the main to die rather than at least shutting down the expansion.

He should have just skipped the colossi entirely. From what I saw at RB LAN it seems 1-base colossus is not really such a good option anymore.
If you both go for the robotics bay, the colossi player will lose to the one who goes for the Immortal + warp prism speed. However, 1base Colossi should still work against someone who goes DT expand....
Oh, it should have worked, he botched it, but I still think he should have skipped colossi and maybe get blink + some immortals himself and push.
