So far Lizzuma has won two straight MLG qualifiers and Gensulitor earned a trip with a second place finish. Now with new members joining the academy will someone be able to give Lizzuma a run for his money? Or will he remain king and represent the Academy at MLG Orlando?
This is compLexity Academy's qualification tournament for MLG Orlando and is set to begin on September 28th at 7 pm EST. The winner from this tournament will receive an all expenses paid trip to go play to MLG Orlando. The format of this tournament is double elimination and best of 3 for each game.
Seed Determination: Seeding is determined by the points gained from the initiation tournament. Future tournaments for the Academy will use the same format, so accumulating points will be important for all players. The points are given out on an opposite placing x2 scale. So, if you get 1st place you would get 10x2 = 20 points and if you get 10th place you would get 1x2= 2 points.
For this event the #1,2, and 3 seeds will be Lizzuma, Gensulitor and Goswser respectively. All other seeds will be random and points for this class will begin after this event.
Player list and Seedings:

Starting Map: The starting map will be determined by veto's. The lower seed veto's first so the higher seed will get to choose between the last two maps. After the first map is played, all other maps will be playable for each game after and there will be ONE veto for each time a player loses a map. Example- Lizzuma wins map one and then he will get to ban 1 map and his opponent can pick from all other maps except the one played and the one veto'd. Lets say his opponent then wins, now his opponent will ban 1 map and then Lizzuma can pick from the rest except from the ones played and banned.

I know last MLG he lost in Round 6 to 4k_lost. The one before that he did not perform as well but gensulitor and brobocop both made it to around losers round 5 or 6. I think losing to whitera and choya.

Wouldn't be surprised that guy is really a douche I am surprised Complexity let him in the academy although I guess its not their fault they don't know how he acts when choosing applicants.
Although I wish I had seen him say he left lol very curious on what he said now
|
He told the casters repeatedly to announce it apparently. Didn't get to see his exact words.

To Clarify:
I asked to be removed from coL Academy after winning the qualifier tournament because of a few reasons. 1) a misunderstanding on my part about what I was receiving (although the text which I misinterpreted was rather confusing) 2) some issues between myself and another member that escalated during todays matches.
coL and coL academy both seem like awesome teams and I only have good things to say about them. Twixz and the rest of the management were very nice and understanding and I would like to apologize for the inconvenience.

You're always awesome in my book, Picnic.

Due to the circumstances presented from last nights events, we will be sending Nocreativity to represent the academy in MLG Orlando. Along with Nocreativity we will also be holding a playoff for anyone Picnic affected in the bracket and allowing the winner of that playoff to also attend MLG Orlando.
I just want people to know when you bring together players from all different backgrounds sometimes things like this will happen, and it is my goal to prevent events like this from happening in the future. Hopefully after last night our academy team can grow stronger and all work towards the same goal of improving as SC2 players.
For Picnics replacement I will be accepting applications to michael.shane@complexitygaming.com (please include replays along with a little about yourself and gaming history/goals).
|
Interesting for a replacement. Might be quite a few matches to make up in a short period of time.
Best of luck to all.
Grats to Creativity.

Do the applications have to be in any specific format?

No as long as you cover what I asked for. Format is up to you.

Now let me stop sucking at zvp please.....
|
Oh wow. I didn't know this existed. This is a really interesting idea and I give a lot of respect to Complexity for creating this. I'll be cheering for Lizzuma to take it again.
|
The final results are 1st - Nocreativity (Zerg) and 2nd - Goswser (Zerg).
These results are due to Picnic (Protoss) declining the first place spot and a small tournament of the people Picnic knocked out being played on the side to determine the second and final spot.
Goswser was the winner of this small tournament and will be taking the second contract and making an appearance at MLG Orlando.
