He finished out the series in a rather poor way, but finishing out the series was best so at least some games were displayed rather than a full forfeit. I smell a cover up.

In SC2 its ok because its 'just' a qualifier, and also because its better for one of the most popular community players. No need to get into the tournament based on skill, right? This is not true at all, It happens all the time, when in a poule two teams play eachother and both got enough with a draw. They will still act like it's a real match but everyone knows it will be a draw in the end.

This makes it pretty sure there is no FIXing going on here, why would you fix against your own teammate (axslav) there's no sense in that, I am afraid DeMusliM just screwed up =) Because this no favour the team in any way. read pharsides post

We can't pretend to call this a "sport" when you hallow this kind of behaviour. I'm sure DeMuslim knew about the dates before starting his bracket but still he decide to beat his "non EG" opponents and forfeit vs his teammates. This braket is basically fake. Edit: I'm from Italy so I know what's a staged sport match and the repercussion that this usually has -.-''

They probably talked and looked at dates and shit.

Seen team drivers in F1 let their teammates pass etc multiple times with no repercussions. Same in a lot of sports with a notion of teams but only one winner per event. I don't know, it's controversial, but it needs to be clearly stated in a tournament's rules that you can be disqualified for throwing games. Which is pretty tough to enforce.

The suggestion about eg strategy to have demuslim take out minigun made sense... until it turns out he plays axlav. Best explanation still seems to be they thought he would drop down to minigun and decided to have demuslim lose. If so, and if idra was in on this, I'll have to renounce my utter devotion to him ![]() Don't be so dramatic. They aren't rigging the tournament to make money off betting, they're simply deciding as a team what is best. I don't see what is ethically questionable about this decision making. We don't need another drama thread on r/starcraft

Having one hidden base doesn't really mean you "outplayed". You got lucky not having it scouted. The fact he didn't insta-win with a full extra base worth of resources says something.

This actually sounds reasonable. But should be careful with accusations i guess.

You know those aren't mutually exclusive right? If I find out it's a best of 5, I don't throw away the next 2 games to make a statement. He could have thought he won, found out shit conflicts with his schedule, then threw the next 2 games.

Guess what? people throw games to get a better advantage all the time, it is up to the TOURNAMENT to structure it so that it doesn't end up in the players hands knowing if they want to win or lose for better seeding.

Thats why he threw game 4 and 5. Look at screen shot. ![]()
