If they did actually throw those games, which is actually certain with the scv rush, I'd throw them out of the event entirely.

Guys, Demuslim realized in at game 4, that the dates of the tournament were not possible for him to attend. He plans to forfeit against Axslav.

He finished out the series in a rather poor way, but finishing out the series was best so at least some games were displayed rather than a full forfeit.

Sorry guys but I think it's rather professional IF this is a set up, if they think DeMusliM got a better chance in the lower bracket then IdrA they should let him play lower bracket, EG should ALLWAYS do whats best for the team if thats IdrA now being definitly qualified for , and DeMusliM still got a pretty decent chance to reach aswell the thats a yes!

This is the qualifier only thing important is the amount of players they get on the event itself. Of course this is not the best for the spectators....But lets be honest....its even worse a top tournament like ESWC without IdrA cause IdrA is just a MUST HAVE for any tournament because of his attitude and all the history

Lol. People pretend SC2 is a professional sport. In a real sport you'd have suspensions if not bans for that behaviour. In SC2 its ok because its 'just' a qualifier, and also because its better for one of the most popular community players. No need to get into the tournament based on skill, right?

This is not true at all, It happens all the time, when in a poule two teams play eachother and both got enough with a draw. They will still act like it's a real match but everyone knows it will be a draw in the end.

This makes it pretty sure there is no FIXing going on here, why would you fix against your own teammate (axslav) there's no sense in that, I am afraid DeMusliM just screwed up =)
Because this no favour the team in any way.

That makes sense. It was a bit too obvious that he threw the games, its just a matter of why he did it. Thanks for the clear up.

Red pharsides post but thaught it was a joke, didn't saw his function

Lol how can you possible be thinking about dates during a game . Would be really disappointing though. Because DeMusliM really is in topshape and so one of the players everyone wants to see on the ESWC

^This. We can't pretend to call this a "sport" when you hallow this kind of behaviour.
I'm sure DeMuslim knew about the dates before starting his bracket but still he decide to beat his "non EG" opponents and forfeit vs his teammates.
This braket is basically fake.

Edit: I'm from Italy so I know what's a staged sport match and the repercussion that this usually has -.-''

It happens. IdrA and Sheth played the IESF qualifiers not knowing it conflicted with IPL3. Finished top2 to then drop out.

If you look at idra's match history (http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/693604/1/EGIdrA/matches), there was a long duration between games 3 and 4

IdrA was able to play 2 ladder games before those 2 games.

They probably talked and looked at dates and shit.

Why would you realize in the middle of a series about the dates? You'd obviously just check in advance... The suggestion about eg strategy to have demuslim take out minigun made sense... until it turns out he plays axlav. Best explanation still seems to be they thought he would drop down to minigun and decided to have demuslim lose. If so, and if idra was in on this, I'll have to renounce my utter devotion to him

you guys and your conspiracy theories. Demuslim was up 2:1, he had actually thought he won, because he didn't realize it was a best of 5. I will upload screenshot.

Seen team drivers in F1 let their teammates pass etc multiple times with no repercussions. Same in a lot of sports with a notion of teams but only one winner per event. I don't know, it's controversial, but it needs to be clearly stated in a tournament's rules that you can be disqualified for throwing games. Which is pretty tough to enforce.

Don't be so dramatic. They aren't rigging the tournament to make money off betting, they're simply deciding as a team what is best. I don't see what is ethically questionable about this decision making. We don't need another drama thread on r/starcraft

Did you watch the first and third game? I think you're confused who outplayed who...

The last game seemed a bit sketchy though...idra went a safe 14hatch14pool like he knew a rush was about to come.

I'm pretty sure I saw someone go up 2-1 in a series and then donate his opponent the entire set.

Yeah , if you are ahead of a zerg economically and you throw your army away multiple times before eventually breaking the zerg , you basically outplayed the zerg.

Having one hidden base doesn't really mean you "outplayed". You got lucky not having it scouted.

The fact he didn't insta-win with a full extra base worth of resources says something.

so instead they send demuslim down to take out minigun and most likely if idra can get through qxc we'll probably have a idra vs demuslim final.

This actually sounds reasonable. But should be careful with accusations i guess.

Erm... You know those aren't mutually exclusive right? If I find out it's a best of 5, I don't throw away the next 2 games to make a statement.

He could have thought he won, found out shit conflicts with his schedule, then threw the next 2 games.

its hilarious how people love drama and conspiracies and leap at them any chance they get.

Guess what? people throw games to get a better advantage all the time, it is up to the TOURNAMENT to structure it so that it doesn't end up in the players hands knowing if they want to win or lose for better seeding.

He thought it was a bo3 and thats why he played for real and won 2:1, he then realized it was bo5 and thats when he asked about date. Thats why he threw game 4 and 5. Look at screen shot.
