Well, despite Swedes dominating the European scene, they don't dominate quite as much as this invitational seems to indicate. Rather than inviting 6 swedes as representative of europe, there are plenty of other players, Stephano/Nerchio/Dimaga instead of Haypro comes to mind. As does DeMuslim/TLO instead of Jinro. Of course they might all have declined, but I refuse to believe there weren't alternatives to this swede heavy line-up.

I guess Dignitas, Liquid and Mouz are the teams easiest to get in touch with for MLG, so they picked most players from them, since it was on short notice as they admitted.

most players? there are 2 players from dignitas from possible something like 10 ( 3 at top level)

MLG is fast becoming my favorite event. I think soon it's going to be the premier tournament of SC2.

Most of the invited players are from dignitas, TL or mousesports, yes. The other ones are teamless. I don't see what you're getting at.

I'm happy with the EU invites, sure there are other good players in EU, but they could only have 8 players.
KR invites are ok, I'd love to have MKP but he might have been invited and just declined his invite so I won't complain.
A little bit skeptic(sceptic?) about some of the NA invites. I think that Destiny, Incontrol and Tyler are questionable choices, but I'd love to be proven wrong because I really like the 3 of them

I just noticed that Daybreak was in the mappool, this is awesome given the number of incredible game that this map has produced (most recent being Top vs MVP game 1, go watch this, the vod is free.)

well thats one way of ensuring foreigners will actually go deep and the whiners still have a reason to watch late in the tournament, make them not have to face the Koreans until the final four.

Inviting people like destiny over select? I see that mlg is becoming a popularity contest over a competition. Don't invite people with no credentials. Make destiny earn the invite through performance. He has yet to place high in any tournament.

Because they have the best players perhaps? Name any team that has more accomplishments than theirs in Foreigner scene?

Yeah, of course, I just remembered reading an interview with/ a post from a public community figure (I don't remember who) saying it was kinda hard to get in touch with some teams (unrelated to MLG) and teams should learn a lesson from Liquid and Mousesports where communication is concerned.

So I did the math and thought that MLG probably rather invited EU players from 'bigger' teams as it might have been easier to get in touch with and come to an agreement with them, particularly because MLG-Adam said that the invitations were on short notice.

I'm not criticising the players and the choices, it was just my opinion that it might have been quicker and easier for MLG to contact and invite HayprO and Jinro instead of, let's say Empire.Kas, imba.Strelok, imba.BratOK, aTn.DarKFoRcE, aTn.Socke or LucifroN.

Or they simply asked the Swedish ambassador in the US for a player list. (j/k)

Dde deserves an invite over destiny... way to go mlg lol

I can't wait for 1.4. Destiny will turn to garbage when he can't blindly go infestor ling every game.
