Like why would Check be motivated to win if he's in already? If Check loses vs Losira, it is possible for a triple 3-1 tie to occur, so there is still significant motivation for Check to win his match.

jiakji>losira losira>MC if MC>jiakji, there should be a tie breaker... small glimmer of hope?

Edit: wait, in the event of a triple 3-1 tie, since Check already beat the others except for kyrix wouldn't he already be through?

jiakji>kyrix check>losira MC>jiakji And then MC would have to win tiebreaker matches. This BO1 format is so harsh..

The up-down matches are way to harsh on the players, plus the format is open to abuse around game 8 (as i mentioned in my last post). Plus Code A is terrible. Code A needs to be fixed, the up-down matches need to be fixed, and less players in Code S need to be safe (atm we're losing 25% of the Code S players entering up-down, add more players in and that becomes 12.5%). The only part of the format that I do not like are the Bo1s. Everybody should play at least Bo3s against each other. That goes the same for Code S initial brackets.

I find the format of Up/Down ok. You just need to win 3 out of 5 to advance. Pretty fair I'd say. If you are MC, you are supposed to go 5-0. Instead he went 0-2, he deserved to be out (and stop being an arrogant smartass by picking players that would destroy you)
