Obligatory public note for all large tournament threads:
The following is a list of behaviors that will get immediate bans:
1. Whining about stream 2. Bashing other games 3. Flaming other users 4. Bashing players 5. Complaining about imbalance.
It is in no way complete. Keep in mind that there's a difference between pointing out that the SC2 and CoD streams were switched and whining about it (same thing on pointing out/asking about stream lag and whining about it, etc.). Also, just because you post something and aren't immediately banned for it doesn't mean you won't get caught. We'll be going through this thread very carefully.
That being said, enjoy today's games!

Pretty good but not great.
Dr. Pepper is mid tier, whereas sprite or cherry coke would be top-tier

Jinro or HwangSin, right?

HwangSin is in Jinro's section too, whilst not the strongest Korean there he's still very dangerous.

"greetings from Raleigh NC" just doesn't have the same ring to it as "greetings from Seooooul South Korea!"

It makes me laugh every time someone calls it pop in Pittsburgh.

In terms of chess he'd be a 2700 Grandmaster. there is no possible way he could be a 2700 gm lol Depends there are like 30-40 players > 2700 According to wikipedia it was 19 in may 2011. In either case I was wrong. For some reason I had thought that I heard Kasparov was like 2500 in his prime instead of 2850.

Informative posts are just getting buried, especially for those who don't currently have access to the streams this is just obnoxious
Some guy earlier asked why TLO withdrew, I reiterate this question. The guy couldn't even have his question answered because it's unlikely anybody saw it under the 25 "EG 0-8!" posts that came straight afterward.
Are you serious? Even bashing EG is more informative than explaining, for the 1000th time, why TLO was DQ'd. That has been answered on every page of this thread.

I think ur right. Jinro has a chance of getting into pool play I would say! His TvT is still pretty good.

IdrA is most definitely capable of getting top 8 as well. He should be able to finish second in his pool, also depending heavily on who comes up from the open bracket. After that he isn't going to have to be playing Machine anymore. The guy's in a slump. Don''t be surprised when he loses to HayprO. It's going to be really close. What fucking slump is he in? People have been saying this forever, what was his high point? His performance seems pretty consistently inconsistent to me for the past however many months. He's not suddenly not playing at his peak, this has been his form for a while, it's just everyone else is getting better and he doesn't seem to be doing the same. Everyone else isn't getting better. The fact they pull a single tourney win every now and then, when no koreans are present, doesn't mean they are doing amazingly better. Do you think Morrow, Stephano or Dimaga or Nerchio would do better? The correct answer is no. Sen at most would do well, but he plays on the Korean servers, so it's logical. Tons of pros ladder either exclusively or a ton on KR server... off the top of my head drewbie and Kawaiirice do it and (even though I like both of them) they're not taking series in massive LANs against koreans despite having good records on the KR ladder.
Sen is a ex-BW progamer and lives close enough to not have extreme lag when on KR. not the same as drewbie or kawaii -_-

Dr Pepper (there is no dot in there, god dammit) is the best. It's just that it's scarred by the existence of Diet Dr Pepper, which is some nasty stuff.

Perhaps I shouldn't have said everyone, though I think it's still pretty apt, and I don't think I ever mentioned Morrow, Stephano, Dimaga or Nerchio, though I do think the latter three could possibly be better than IdrA.
The point and the question remains, what fucking slump? What was his high point? He always manages to do well enough against North Americans in NA tournaments but his performance hasn't suddenly dipped anywhere, it's the same as it ever was.
