Yeah, most great players have weaker matchups, but they're still pretty decent in them. Bomber's TvZ, MVP's TvP, Losira's ZvT, but sage's PvP just seems downright awful.... Well, Losira's ZvT used to be absolute shit. Same with HuK's PvP. ... hopefully Sage can work on that a little bit. At least he's not like an InCa. One good match-up, two shitty ones. Lol. Not certain if that's the case anymore, after he discovered how great the mass-muta style can be. TOP's TvZ is monstrous, yet Losira defeated him quite handily imo. Same with Huk, really. It's still at a 35.7%. I remember that series where he won against San. It was pretty hilarious because San's PvP win-percentage actually went up after he lost.
The thing with Huk is, I'm not convinced that his PvP somehow magically improved, because I honestly don't see stylistic changes, or improvements in understanding. If anything, his series vs. an out of shape MC shows that his decision-making is erratic at best. I was more or less objecting to the fact that you lumped Losira and Huk together. I think Losira has geniunely improved his TvZ understanding - Huk is still a mystery, imo.

Is there gonna be VODs for these games soon? I missed about half of them

Where did I say Sage was a great player? Your response is irrelevant to what we're talking about. Who is "we"? Does that include AxionSteel, the one who made the original post? Does he not get a say in what the two of you are talking about? At that, were you really "talking" about anything, at least anything more complicated than a very simple and obvious complaint about PvP? Well, conversations usually have purposes, and I feel that my purpose was clear: to state that the unfairly general declaration of how Sage was "completely outclassed" should be specified to only PvP. My point in calling his response irrelevant was because I don't see how whether or not Sage is a "great player" had anything to do with what we were previously talking about. So, sure, he gets to say as much as he wants, but when it's something that seems irrelevant to the initial conversation, I'd rather point it out rather than going down another tangent (which happens a lot on the internet).
Not sure why it's unfair to say he was outclassed, when he infact, was majorly outclassed in that specific series.

Unfairly general. I know that I'm being really anal, but seeing those really general "completely outclassed" statements has been a pet peeve of mine, so all I did to respond to that pet peeve was to add the "..in PvP" to your statement, which is arguably a true thing to append to what you said. Not a big deal.

Worst feeling ever as Protoss. xD

im starting to think sage = artosis, with the pylon placements. that would explains why artosis loves sage.

...Maybe more banes dude??

Not really impressed with Curious...A much hyped player so he must be good, but just horrible micro in this tournament so far :S

I guess orb doesn't watch Destiny play too often. Say what you will about the guy but he has sick Infestor control.
EDIT: Spoke too soon, just caught the Destiny shout out. 4 Infestor Bro Squad, ftw.

I do believe that MC has stated in an interview that Huk actually didn't practice much for his match against MC. Apparently Huk wanted to play MC on a flatter battlefield. Really not a good decision from Huk.
Having said that, Sage should use fewer Artosis pylons. Seriously.

The funny thing is that he's beating players who are supposed to be really good - PuMa, Byun, and Puzzle. I honestly don't feel that impressed by Curious either, but I dunno, I guess he's been doing something right.

What happened in Game 2? Compleltley missed it with my internet stuffing up

Yeh I saw the Puzzle series and found it rather underwhelming from both sides :S I dunno, but seems like he just amoves and leaves lots of stuff idle etc, but he must have some strong parts to his game
|
I'm sure most have heard by now, but doesn't Curious have problems with nerves? Perhaps he's choking, being so close to the finish line. If anyone remembers his match with Sheth in the GSTL, he showed some nice baneling micro at the start of the game.
|
Well he handled that one very cleanly. But yeah, he really needed more banes vs that kind of mass zeal play. Ultras aren't really useful except as damage soaks and ff crushers.
|
The thing you have to remember about starcraft, is if you have perfect macro and strategies you can simply outplay people with better micro. iloveoov had pretty bad micro and he was a bonjwa. savior had very slow apm compared to players like nada and a like but his macro and strategic planning was simply brilliant. I think curious seems like a similar player, alot more macro strategy based player rather than micro. not saying he is that great or anything just from what ive seen he doesnt place the highest priority on micro which is why he beat players like Puma, Byun and Puzzle even with bad micro.

Wow, this series sure turned quickly.
