It'd be better than them trying to stretch a handful of Bo3 games over the entire weekend using a lot of dead time and protracted intro videos and other fillers. It's like they're trying to stretch 8 hours of actual content over 3 days. They announced that it will be best of 5 for Ro8 and bo7 for Ro4+Finals Btw, next day starts in 44 Minutes and we don't ahve a LR thread yet? feel free to make the LR thread. ![]() The only thing I don't know is the maps they play on -.- Go on NASL official website, they're all there. I do hope that it is Bo5, but their website sure is confusing. They only list 3 maps for all the quaterfinals (Puma vs. Squirtle isn't even listed, so maybe they are fixing it)

Throughout the day they also worked with some Justin.TV people(Gunrun and some others) to help optimize the stream quality and to fix the audio....We think the problem is something about the FMLE not liking using the AAC codec for audio on the stream output which is causing the imbalance. The crew pulled a all nighter to try to fix and improve everything. This imbalance problem has existed since Week 1, reported many times here and on Reddit. Why would you not try to resolve this during the nine week season? This is why people are complaining. NASL has had plenty of time to work out the proper codec issue to get the sound correctly balanced on the stream. Having your workers pull at all-nighter at this point is silly.

Just lost a LOT of respect for that player and team if that's how they are told to act. Incontrol was not his competition, he was a caster helping to host the games, there is no call for that kind of douche baggery. I hope his team manager see's this and bitches him out for how fucking stupid he was. It's clear he meant to do a taunt thing to Sen and didn't expect incontrol to extend his hand, and shaking his hand then doing the taunt would have just looked weird. Iunno why you're getting so butt hurt over it in the first place, I don't think he meant to disrespect incontrol.

Even if 19000 are complaining about the amateurish production. Remember, there's no such thing as bad publicity. oh wait yes there is NASL possibly lost a lot of subscribers with this first day. Good thing people on the internet have a bad short term memory and will forget this shit quickly when day 2 and 3 deliver. Pressure's on NASL! No not really. To me it seems they still can't hold an event. I waited the first season to hope it would be better. But it did not. Even if the 2 day after this are awesome, they still did not prove to be considered one of the major e-sport events like MLG, IEM or DreamHack. This. Watching high beams on two of five casters (while the other three do fk all) against a black curtain backdrop, with the earthquake camera and sound in one ear doesn't really portray the same air of professionalism MLG or Dreamhack does. It seems like they went in two days in advance to set everything up. I'd say it was a disappointment, but every single week it's been like this. You cannot look towards the future and say it will be different, when 8 weeks in their stream was crashing and had sound problems. The prize pool is bigger than almost any other tournament, and the production value is a webcam with no tripod. It's absurd. And yet the irony is, you only proved Bobster's point by comparing it to the "professionalism" of MLG. Think back one event to MLG Dallas, and the MLG stream was so terrible that the entire TL was "omg this is the end of MLG I am never watching again!!1one!1". Fast forward it by a single event, and you're now using it as the gold standard of streaming. NASL will recover. It's well known that customers of anything will only remember their very latest experience. As soon as NASL get it right, which may even be tomorrow, all this shit will be a historical footnote. The difference was aside from the massive stream issues MLG Dallas production was actually good when stream worked. Also Sundance and MLG staff were in constant communication with the people watching. Also MLG gave peoples money back and offered free HD etc. in order to help lessen the problems going on. NASL doesn't done any of these things. They just have massive issues and seemingly ignore the viewers/customers. In fact in the past they have even been known to rant at the viewers/customers dismissing the complaints. Yes, but we could actually watch the games. I presume we all tuned in to see some Starcraft, as opposed to MLG's patented BLACK SCREEN OF NOTHINGNESS. My only real problems with NASL were: 1. The sound issues. Nuff said. 2. Too much talent, too little use. I didn't think it was possible to waste Tastosis, but they managed it. 3. They didn't have 1/2 of the content they needed to fill a 12 hour show. The padding was so obvious that it became extremely bothersome. Simple rule: if you don't have enough stuff to fill a 12 hour show, don't try to run one. I can't believe that they really thought the pacing they had set was a good idea. The intro movies for the games were longer than the actual games in some cases. I'm willing to forgive technical problems. Technology is a traitorous thing at times. But somebody sat down and planned this and actually thought that 8 BO3s were enough to fill 12 hours. That's ridiculous, and inexcusable. I don't demand the GSL from every event I watch, but it's not hard to watch a couple of GSLs and note how they pace the shows, nor is that too hard to emulate. They want to run a long finals? Awesome. Then bring the content that justifies it. Run a team game as a side event. Invite EG and Mouzsports for a showmatch for a smaller prize pool, split the finalists into four 4 man teams and do some crazy 4 v 4s for the lulz. I'm sure we'd all have been happy to watch Boxer/MC/Select/Zenio vs WhiteRa/Ret/Sen/Darkforce. Even if that sounds like a horrible idea, it's damn well better than making the broadcast teams talk over empty space. Especially when Tastosis and incontrol are the only ones capable of making that vaguely entertaining. I don't think this can be repeated ENOUGH. NASL seems to be using previous crappy MLGs as their broadcasting model, where the audience sits and watches casters fill time for 40 minutes and then cast 30-40 minutes of starcraft. It's fine to do a pre-game show to introduce the players, but make it short and punchy, then show nothing but non-stop starcraft games. A short break for casting changes, bathroom breaks, and food breaks is understandable. But the HUGE time gaps the NASL had between matches was completely ridiculous. I was BORED. And as an aside, the replay of all those "highlights" was horrible. Show HIGH-lights, not a sample from every round. Better yet, if they are goign to waste time, show some ANALYSIS. What they could have done was illustrate their builds from the maps and matchups they had played so far. Like: What does White-Ra like to do against Terran on Xelnaga Caverns? Which opening does Xenio prefer against other Zergs? That is something that might be interesting to both those who saw the matches and the people who didn't. I also agree with double-elimination. All the loser bracket matches don't NEED to be broadcast, but c'mon, they already PAID for the players to show up. More games = more content. Content they can sell with advertising on VOD streams. Bottom Line: More games (use double elims or special fan-friendly events) Less talking
