I'd think that'd be the tiebreaker too, but it could be whoever has less total losses comes before player vs player tiebreak, which would explain the situation. Official rules anywhere?

The situation is not covered in the official rules

That would be the dumbest tie break ever, especially when Idra has more wins. If its anything but head to head, its fucked up.

Uh, disagree. If two players (A and B) went 10-1 in their matchups, with player B's only loss against player A, but player B went 2-0 in every game exception for the 1-2 loss, yet player A went 2-1... sorry but I would consider player B the stronger player. Less blind bias please and use some logic.

Uhm, if Idra had more wins they wouldn't be tied and there would be no tiebreaker.
Other than that Idra wins in any imaginable tiebreaker vs Grubby.

Well it would make sense to go to overall score first. From there its up in the air, but I'd have gone for games won or head to head (games won helps more when 3+ people are tied). Either one of those methods would put Idra through. Its painful, because if Grubby had won his last game 2-0, or lost to Idra 2-1 he would have probably gone through.

Honestly in a two player tie the first tie-break should be head to head.

well grubby switched around feb giving him 4 months to get to a status that everyone else had almost a year to get to.

and honestly grubby is not doing bad at all.

I dont expect him to be a super hero like he was in wc3, a game he played since like he was 15 years old... but he is gonna be like a strong player.

come on do you even read anything lol, demuslim said already X times, grubby played alot back in BETA, and who cares 4 months or not, he looks bad, no potential tbh

Someone's quick to judge.
Why no potential?

i mean come on, look at all his games, no macro nothing, he gets huge leads and then suddenly loses everything lol, he just looks bad to me, compared to other players who started not that long ago too, he looks just bad

I don't think you'd have that attitude if Grubby had been a BW pro, not a WC3 pro. Two things:

1) You don't know Grubby's situation, how much he practices or how seriously he takes SC2, or if he's had other stuff going on in his life. To assume that he's been straight up training 24/7 for 4 months to produce mediocre results is making an assumption.

2) People are capable of improving in a very short amount of time, regardless of past results. Maybe something will click for him in a month, and he'll suddenly become the bonjwa of SC2.

Flash was not considered a good player for a while, until he had a chance to shine finally. Basically, don't count anyone out :D

Just to add to your true points: Grubby did pretty frickin good overall - players that finished WORSE in their respective groups:
- Tyler
- Morrow
- Nightend
- Kas
- Adel
- TT1

Just because he collapsed vs IdrA everyone is handing him shit, it really should be banworthy after a certain point. No respect for one of the most succesful overall esport-representatives from Europe is really disappointing considering that we are on TL and not some random scrub/kiddy-forum.

I like to judge people from results in tournaments and how well I see how the player does. So atm I think the liquid team, grubby, EGMachine, etc. etc. could use improvements. I would hate to judge grubby on how good he is in WC3 and rather how good he is in SC2. We should respect him I guess on past achievements, but not until he starts showing better results that I will think he is a better player or will shine through.

He finished 3rd in a really difficult 6 man group, why aren't the 3 pro's who finished BELOW him and have probably been playing the game longer then him getting shit?

Probably because no one on that list have the hype that surrounds Grubby, Europe's best WC 3 player. People expect much from Grubby. He's not just some random scrub; he's a RTS legend.

Rubbish i dont think there was one hyped up person saying Grubby would win this but I read a lot of posts saying this was an easy group that idra would walk through.

The hype is over him as an overall player, not this tournament in particular. The disappointment with Grubby started long before his placement here, which is actually pretty good.

I'd say that the biggest contributor to the negativity around Grubby is probably his atrocious record in NASL.

I hope not. That seems dumb as fuck. If IdrA has more wins and won the head to head that should be enough.

There should at least be a rematch or something if anything because this seems kind of stupid, but it might just me being bias because i am a Idra fan.

Hmm, why though?

Because Grubby is more awesome than IdrA?

Yeah, great, just the answer i was looking for.

sigh..

Idra was said to be sick today so perhaps he pulled out? Hoping it's not true though I prefer to see Idra. (yes very unpatriotic from myself)

Yeah that makes more sense, a shame though. =/

Grubby went 3-2 (6-5).

Idra also went 3-2 but with 7-6.

If dreamhack thinks 6-5 is better than 7-6, they are going to put Grubby higher. And Grubby is also more awesome, which counts.

So grubby can get outted in the next round? IdrA beat grubby anyways so i would think that they would go to that for a tiebreaker as well. Which should mean IdrA in all possible situations unless he did withdraw. Which i kinda doubt because i haven't seen any twitter update or FB from Eg about that.

I'd think that'd be the tiebreaker too, but it could be whoever has less total losses comes before player vs player tiebreak, which would explain the situation. Official rules anywhere?

That would be the dumbest tie break ever, especially when Idra has more wins. If its anything but head to head, its fucked up.

Uh, disagree. If two players (A and B) went 10-1 in their matchups, with player B's only loss against player A, but player B went 2-0 in every game exception for the 1-2 loss, yet player A went 2-1... sorry but I would consider player B the stronger player. Less blind bias please and use some logic.

DH's official rules does not cover this which is really irritating. To plays devils advocate, they could go by the "least number of loss

No that would be the coin toss they did last time.

True dat.
