Why no potential? i mean come on, look at all his games, no macro nothing, he gets huge leads and then suddenly loses everything lol, he just looks bad to me, compared to other players who started not that long ago too, he looks just bad I don't think you'd have that attitude if Grubby had been a BW pro, not a WC3 pro. Two things: 1) You don't know Grubby's situation, how much he practices or how seriously he takes SC2, or if he's had other stuff going on in his life. To assume that he's been straight up training 24/7 for 4 months to produce mediocre results is making an assumption. 2) People are capable of improving in a very short amount of time, regardless of past results. Maybe something will click for him in a month, and he'll suddenly become the bonjwa of SC2. Flash was not considered a good player for a while, until he had a chance to shine finally. Basically, don't count anyone out :D Just to add to your true points: Grubby did pretty frickin good overall - players that finished WORSE in their respective groups: - Tyler - Morrow - Nightend - Kas - Adel - TT1 Just because he collapsed vs IdrA everyone is handing him shit, it really should be banworthy after a certain point. No respect for one of the most succesful overall esport-representatives from Europe is really disappointing considering that we are on TL and not some random scrub/kiddy-forum. I like to judge people from results in tournaments and how well I see how the player does. So atm I think the liquid team, grubby, EGMachine, etc. etc. could use improvements. I would hate to judge grubby on how good he is in WC3 and rather how good he is in SC2. We should respect him I guess on past achievements, but not until he starts showing better results that I will think he is a better player or will shine through. Why does he get privileged because of his achievements in a completely different game. He does not deserve all the tournament invites whatsoever and gets stomped by almost everyone. Today he had the best matches of his sc2 career so far btw, so don't pretend he's on an equal skill level as morrow/kas/etc. I don't hate him at all, he's a cool guy and I watch his stream sometimes because he plays aggressively with nice micro, but still..
The last big LAN he was at in Copnhagen he smashed Morrow and took third, what are you even talking about?

So far, mostly on the corresponding Justin.tv channels, most of the Day9 games are on his blip.tv page and over time most will find their way to YouTube. I don't think there is an 'official' VoD page for Dreamhack.

Hats off to the DreamHack crowd I gotta say. They're keeping up with Day[J]'s enthusiasm which is ... fucking epic ! :D Wish I was there.

You all sound like Idra, expecting people to play perfectly in every match. People make mistakes all the time. Complaining about Grubbys lack of results when he's equal with idra in group play, complaining about moons apparent lack of micro when he's up 100 supply with banelings only and just a-move.
The fact of the matter is that the only thing that matters in the end is who won the game, not by how much or how well they played. If all these progamers are so horrible in your eyes, I think you should go there yourself. Should be pretty easy to beat julyzerg in zvz, grubby in macro games and moon in micro fights right?

Hoping it's not true though I prefer to see Idra. (yes very unpatriotic from myself) Yeah that makes more sense, a shame though. =/ It could be due to winratios aswell, Idra is 7-6 (~53,8% winratio) while Grubby is 6-5 (~54,5% winratio). so wait is idra out now or wth i am confused because it just said on day9 stream that idra advances, but now you are saying brackets show otherwise?
I have no idea, apparently placement got changed and Grubby was placed over Idra here(which isn't working for me though). But I think it's based on the match between the two, so Idra should be advancing if he didn't pull out, not sure though.
Guess I made it more confusing than it is already, heh.

Probably because no one on that list have the hype that surrounds Grubby, Europe's best WC 3 player. People expect much from Grubby. He's not just some random scrub; he's a RTS legend.

If dreamhack thinks 6-5 is better than 7-6, they are going to put Grubby higher. And Grubby is also more awesome, which counts. So grubby can get outted in the next round? IdrA beat grubby anyways so i would think that they would go to that for a tiebreaker as well. Which should mean IdrA in all possible situations unless he did withdraw. Which i kinda doubt because i haven't seen any twitter update or FB from Eg about that.
I'd think that'd be the tiebreaker too, but it could be whoever has less total losses comes before player vs player tiebreak, which would explain the situation. Official rules anywhere?
