We will be moderating harshly in this thread. Think twice before you post. Things we are watching for: image macros, balance whining, "eagles", player bashing etc. We encourage civil and reasoned critique of our moderation - please post it in the website feedback forum.

Please don't complain about MLG stream quality or MLG itself. They work very hard to provide you with an enjoyable service.

Enough with the racism discussions, this is a LR Thread. Cut it out.

Watch losira vs MC. Game 2 I believe... Not sure. Losira puts on the most pressure i've ever seen from any Zerg.
SC:BW has a higher skill ceiling than SC2? SC 64 is where it's at brah.

Yeah game quality of all the games with idra were absolutely awful except for his final loss, the first 2 games vMC were ok too, but MC obviously played under his skill level.

In contrast every single MMA game was topnotch except for g1 vs losira, dunno what happened there.

I still need to figure out why and how MC won that final battle vs pure stalker vs hydra infestor

if that comba doesnt work.... what does lmao

Comparing IdrA to other foreigners is like comparing Eminem to other white rappers; they both became what they are/were because they are products of their respective environments.

sc2ratings now has the MLG Columbus matches (with links to vods where they are), so go rate the hell out of them.

If they're staying in the foreign scene they count as foreigners. It's not like if you go to Korea and come back bringing some extra skill/knowledge it somehow doesn't count as a gain for foreigners. It's a global world, nothing develops in a bubble any more.

Let not pretend IdrA's trip to Korea lasted 1 week. He was exposed to Entus' grueling practice regime. Once you do that, you know what you have to do to remain on top.

Not to mention IdrA was doing quite well on the Korean ladder.

Take a guy like Incontrol, spends half his day casting, then hovering around ~150 on the North American GM ladder, then expects to do well in MLG? LOL.

All these foreigners evacuating Korea as well, so they can participate in "easier" tournaments. Well, I'm happy Koreans came to MLG, and I hope they come to every other damn tournament Tyler and Geoff think they can waltz into with 6 hours practice and win free money.

It took well over a year for IdrA to start winning anything when he moved in with estro and got transferred to cj entus and that was foreign tournaments.

Greg was down there for well over 2 years. A guy like him only benefits from the Korean model of practice and even then it takes a long time before you see the benefits, but now he makes his own schedule he's bond to not do as well.

You need to perfect your practice.

Losira training ZvZ with Nestea...glhf Idra

That doesn't mean much. Inca is training PvX with MC and isn't very good. You could pretty much claim the same thing about any player in a clan that has some top player

inca trains PvP with MC and is awful at PvP

makes sense dude

Man, (P)InCa's so bad at PVP.

vP: 16-3 (84.21%) | Last 10 (old -> recent): W L W W W W W W W W | View Games

Yeah, he's the son

Idra's recently dropped ZVZ sets to both Zenio and Sen... I think Losira could have probably beaten him in ZVZ - obviously not guaranteed, but Losira IMO is the favored one there.

(Who the crap is (Z)L? He makes using the TLPD button so annoying!)

Edit: fixed with SC2 references to Losira and NesTea.

Yes, LosriA's zvz monster too. I don't think anyone is arguing that. You really do need good practice partners at the same time who work towards the same goal.

Or you need to be a true hero of the foreigners like (Z)DIMAGA - he's the one responsible for the -2 in Nestea's record!

Idra, shame on you for going on tilt! You never recovered You wouldn't have had to even PLAY MC again if you handled MMA the way we know you could have. Oh well. At least you made about a million people all go "HUUUUUUUH???" simultaneously.

Sorry if this was discussed, but in Naniwa vs MC, after watching the replay, how could Naniwa have NOT seen the DT shrine, his stalkers were right next to it. I think it was a spectator glitch and Naniwa put down a forge right after he backed up with his stalkers. Any thoughts?

I feel like Thorzane, Naniwa and Idra are the only players who really looked capable of taking out the koreans. Thorzane vs MC was really close, Idra looked solid in his first 2 games vs MC and his first game against MMA. Naniwa looked ok vs losira and mc too imo.

Naniwa vs Losira wasn't close. Losira outplayed him completely, even on Testbug, a map he'd never played before.

Thorzain vs MC was overall 4-2 to MC, Thorzain played well but TvP is his best match by far and it's definitely MC's worst, but MC still won.

Idra was great in the 2-0 but MC had done zero preperation being told only a day before he was going and was probably pretty jag lagged. I don't want to make massive excuses but you can see why MC wasn't 100% in this game, and he later beat Idra 4-0 with a proper days rest and time to adjust to the time zones.

Sjow played a very even series vs MMA. MMA won 2-1 but every game was close. Without the extended series, Thorzain would have beaten MC 2-1 in the loser bracket. Thorzain didn't get the chance to play July or Moon and Naniwa didn't get the chance to play MMA so we can't be sure how that would have ended. The three Koreans played better than anyone else this weekend but I think the top foreigners can compete with them.

To be honest, MC wouldn't even have HAD to play Thorzain again if it wasn't for that stupid loser's bracket stuff. Worst idea ever. I don't get why you reward someone for losing and giving them a second chance.

Lets be honest, aside from idra and possibly thorzain, nobody looked even close to the level of the 5 koreans (even moon). With better luck the top 5 would of been all koreans. I can see sc2 go the route of bw as the game gets more refined and koreans becoming the absolute dominant force.

Eh.... Naniwa beat Moon comfortably. Yet didn't look close to his level in your eyes? Moon was also beaten by Slush. In fact over his 6 match-ups against foreigners Moon only managed an 8-7 record. Hardly dominant.

Anyway, with Dreamhack, NASL live finals and MLG Anaheim within the next few months as well as more foreigners going to Korea, there is little reason to have this argument now as we will soon have a much larger sample size to draw better conclusions from.

Congrats, the foreigners are almost the same level as a Code B guy (Moon).
Reach for the stars.
