We will be moderating harshly in this thread. Think twice before you post. Things we are watching for: image macros, balance whining, "eagles", player bashing etc. We encourage civil and reasoned critique of our moderation - please post it in the website feedback forum.
Please don't complain about MLG stream quality or MLG itself. They work very hard to provide you with an enjoyable service.
Enough with the racism discussions, this is a LR Thread. Cut it out. -- updated 7:55 KST |

Wow... more than ten thousand followers lol I think that's unprecedented for a Korean progamer isn't it? Anyway thanks to Moon's coach who did the translation, July, Losira, MMA, Dr. Chae, Trevor (T/N I think that's Torch), Rachel, good job to you all. And good job for me too lol... I'm gonna win it all in the Gygabyte StarsWars Tournament... Next time I'm gonna take first place in the championship pool... -.- second place has to play so many more games... even one less game woulda have been great against Losira, because of BO battles(T/N I dunno what he means by that) T.T I lost the mind games before all the 3 matches... MMA's dropships make me say Terran imba unconsciously... wow I'm tired... Whoaaa I'm really tired T.T Congrats to MMA Good job Losira... Personally this tournament was a great experience for me.. -.- but I'm a little bit worried about my schedule... and moreover I gotta go to China after I get back... personally I would have loved to have a finals match with MMA but o well too bad T.T I like how we couldn't get anyone to translate for like 10 pages, and now it's been done three times. Sucked to see MC's stargate build get figured out by the end, but I think that was up to him to not keep on adapting. The switch to DT play in game 2 was really cool, and he should have kept switching things around. Got too predictable by the end there, and Losira hard countered him. They both knew it at that point.
he faced a lot of gosu zergs before losira, that had to at least tell him that you can't all in MC ;P

So have the consolation matches been played? I see that Slush finished in front of Naniwa and wanted to know why.

MarineKing would be great at MLG. The guy has a great personality and shows amazing emotion during games. The logical choice should be NesTea, MVP, SlayersMMA and whoever wins the super tournament. NesTea - earns it by being the reigning GSL Code S champion. MVP - earns it because he won the GSL world championships recently. SlayersMMA - as reigning champ needs to be given the opportunity to go back and defend his crown. Super tourney winner - self explanatory. MMA will actually be a near Top seed now will he not? IIRC, invited player will not be re-invited. So MMA, MC, Losira and Moon will not be the 4 at Anaheim. If MMA want to go then Slayers need to send him using their own money
Although I think you're correct about MMA/MC/Losira/Moon not being re-invited that has nothing to do with the question
I'm almost positive MMA will be seeded high enough that should he come again he won't need to go through the open bracket. That just makes logical sense.
Edit: MC/Losira should be in that position as well. Idk how MLGs point system works to know if Moon is as well.

I know the prize money isnt amazing (MLG says they will fix that for next season) but the final event is 50k and preserving his pool play spot for that seems like a worthwhile investment for slayers to make.

Cause it would be harder to break the Korean dominance. The reason for me that the MLG is exciting is that there is hope that someone can beat the Koreans. It's kinda like you're playing a home game where the home team has an advantage and can win even if their opponents are superior. If the Koreans gets seeded higher than the others, they basically have the home advantage. Like the World Cup where the host nation gets a natural advantage.

Won't the points that MMA gets for winning put him into the top 16? He'll be in the Top 16, but what sandyph meant was that GSL won't sponsor his next trip.

They don't deserve to win then. You're just looking for an easy way out.

I used to llike MLG so much because I knew a foreigner I liked would win. Now with the best koreans coming over every MLG, the chances of a foreigner winning are slim. No more getting to see your favorite foreigner that you can INTERACT with (not here a translated interview) win MLG. well MC is working on his English so soon he will be able to INTERACTZZZ no hes a Korean and will always be a korean. we aren't going to watch his stream everyday, here interviews all the time, and watch him on SOTG. no. you first implied that koreans dont interact when clearly korean sc2 players have been trying to reach out to the foreign for a long time. for example, streaming on tl, getting twitter accounts and tweeting in english, etc. you continued argued that "hes a Korean and will always be a korean". you replies have so much racist undertones that you probably do not even notice.

the natural advantage u speak of in the world cup is there at foreign events, foreign fans, language, time zone etc.
thats advantage enough, it should be based upon the points you accumulate for placing where you finished. no favoritism either way.

I can't believe people are having a foreigner vs. korean argument. Who cares? Players are players.

I'm a bit confused - so why did Idra have to fight MC again?

On friday they played because they were both in Group C. The results from group play determine how high you seed in the championship bracket. They ended up hitting each other in the championship bracket today.

The host nation doesn't have to go through the World Cup qualifiers and are seeded accordingly in their group. If they weren't the host nation, they probably would not even qualify for the World Cup. There's so many instances where the football scene and talent just exploded because the country did well in the World Cup.
