Can we please, please, please avoid ruining this thread with the usual arguments about why white males cannot participate in female only tournaments and why they're the ones who are excluded from things for once.

Kelly milkies and megumi are the only females who play regularly that I know of. There's your 1st and 2nd place.

Flo is a master league player who plays 4-5 hours a day (and she said that will increase during summer) and has won the last such tournament, therefore I guess she wins.
|
My vote is for navi! She is an awesome player!! don't forget!
|
Hopefully Flo or Navi can get Grandmasters before Artosis does :3
|
I'm sure they've all be training really hard. Looking forward to this. Are their any GM female players?
|
kelly will tear it up if she enters, she's got the world's sexiest coach

Megumi will not compete because she does not believe in female cups for her own personal reasons. But none the less we have a great line up of female gamers that will definitely showcase some really good sc2 talent. As others have mentioned, Navi, flo, kellymilkies, and ASUS.Dzejna.
|
Navi should do well, she's a fantastic player - love watching her stream.
If I can I'd like to cover/commentate some of the matches - I'm just concerned about the timezone diff. I'll have a look and see what I can do.
|
|
I want to see a match between flo and Navi :D !!!

I always thought Megumi was cool...
Now I've got even more respect for her, that's pretty awesome.
|
Just wondering, do the logos etc always have to be pink?!
Seriously what's wrong with yellow?
Too bad Megumi won't play but very understandable.

Cuz all she does is play 2s all day and can't handle real competition.
PROVE ME WRONG, MEGUMI!
|
|
How awesome, every step for female gaming is also a step for e-sport in general so what is there not to love?

What the hell are you talking about? megumixbear streams her ladder games with webcam...
Going from gold to masters in 4 months isn't even hard either lmao, especially if you are constantly around people who are easily gm level that coach you half the time you play. Stop posting

I can't speak for the difficulty of the SEA server, but my gf is over 1500 in masters on NA at 78-50 after playing 0 games in season 1. Below is a replay of her playing a 1000+ masters zerg who loses his scouting overlord to marines then suicides 6 mutas into turrets killing nothing.
I think Masters in SC2 is like C players in BW iccup in that they are capable of REALLY solid play, but they are still inconsistent and prone to make big mistakes like this replay shows.

http://sc2ranks.com/us/2136523/Torpid
I think she's masters and I think she's good, but I also think maybe she's a little inconsistent like many masters player and when they make a mistake people like to act like it's a huge deal when it's not.

It's possible. Here's platinum to 1500+ masters in under 3 weeks without playing any custom 1v1 games to practice. Straight up ladder. http://sc2ranks.com/team/12320644#alltime
The flat point between the 12th and the 19th is because we went on vacation and no chance to play so it could have been done in about weeks of power gaming

wait......... how are you going to tell if they are female?

I watched the final game of that cup. And I am wondering what leagues they are playing? (e.g. Aurora)

1700 master, if I read sc2ranks.com correctly. Someone confirm?

That's what I saw too, but cannot believe it tbh..

Big congrats to all the top placers at Iron Lady!
|
Good stuff from Aurora and Sylvanas. Congrats on the placing.
|
to all to you doubters, I personally met aurora at MLG Dallas where she won a few of her matches, she was masters back then and playing Zerg. She's a particularly shy individual and I assumed she didn't want attention at MLG.
You can check the MLG open brackets and look for aurora, she did play there and did reasonably well considering the stacked event.

why did you post and then 4minutes later you quoted your own post without adding anything when no one said anything in between? T_T
back to topic, will the replays of the final be available anywhere? i had to go and missed them T_T

Watch the final game. Really special tactics ;-)

|
Aurora win ? but i still doubt ....
http://www.justin.tv/aurorasc/b/288169952
this stream, aurora play zerg master 1v1 like but it s dude here ...
maybe i'am wrong, but when there are very strong levels, a webcam check it s necessary like migumibearx http://www.justin.tv/megumixbear
cheating is easy, just ask his girlfriend to talk
So why not request a photo, with a sign "ironlady 2" (few people will take the risk to be recognized if it does not play sc2) and if the level is master, diamond and when in doubt, only admins can check from the webcam ?
may be I'm wrong! IMO
good luck to organize tournaments, it's a good Iniative

These threads always have the same progression: 1) why don't the women just play in the same leagues as men? various social stupidities are then barfed out until the admins start banning. 2) great games are played, people are impressed. 3) people question if the winner could even be a woman, as her play was sooooo good. Repeat for next event.
Yet people continue to wonder why there aren't more female gamers.

Full replay pack now available on Ironladysc2.com home page. Just look at Hall of Fame table!
