He could've whacked those marines and seen no CC, then gone allout defence and win easily. Anyway you don't have to go 100% defence or 100% drones. If he had built just one more spine he would have held that by pulling all his drones. 1 spine is cheap as hell. It's cheaper than 4 lings! (same cost, 1 less larva). | ||

Yeah, not seeing a CC would cause him to bulk up his defense a bit, but there's no way he could possibly have known there was actually a CC further back or not and his reaction would be a total gamble. | ||
