I wonder how Jinro feels about this... he won an MLG already, so he could've been in Code S from that, and now they make it easier to stay in Code S right AFTER he drops to Code A, AND now it's probably a bit harder to get back into Code S.

Doesn't really matter though. It's just a matter of time until he's back in Code S and kicking ass again.

I like that gsl is listening to the community. Even if these changes don't work out, it means their trying instead of playing the "this sort of works" card all the time.

AWESOME changes! Always thought the Group Stage format should be more like MSL format and I always thought Code A champ should get an auto-berth into Code S. Kind of sucks for Code S players that it is now becoming harder to keep their spot, but now we will hopefully have less undeserving players in Code S.

Oh and I almost forgot. GSTL becoming more like PL and having a regular season is AMAZING !!

if I was Code S, going down to Up/Down matches because I was bottom 2 in the group is a scarier proposition than going down to Up/Down matches because I was last in the group

Much Props to Gom, have been buying all their tickets ^__^. Really like the amount of games now plus the spacing. Not too many games so the players have time to breathe and create new strategies!

This is HUGE

Honestly, a single elimination team league is completely terrible, really glad GOM is going to actually use a proper league format

How does the overlap of code A and code S work? In the first week, they made it clear that there'd be code A @ 1:10, code S @ 6:10. But in week two, they are seemingly scheduled for 6:10 and 7:10.

Can anybody clear that up?

I believe that it is only the first week that code A will be played everyday.

After that they just play on Mondays (RO8 one week, Semis the next and finals the week after) at their regular timeslot. Certainly don't need more than a single broadcast for any of those.

Any idea how the pricing is going to work? Will the 10 week team league be one ticket, while each of the normal CodeS/CodeA be a separate ticket, and the two just run at the same time, or is the whole 10 weeks covered by one ticket?

"Also, winner of MLG will get Code S"

Thats going to change Incontrol, Tyler and Idra opinion about MLG + GSL player exchange.

We've known that the winner of MLG would get Code S since the exchange announcement. Though is that this MGL? Because in the original announcement it said starting next MLG.

Winner of MLG was only supposed get Code A prior to this announcement. I think this is a much better way and more fair for both scenes, almost no pro expressed interest to go to korea for Code A when they are good enough to win MLG, since they can obviously win in the foreign scene and do good for themselves.

Untrue, but its wierd how everyone thought that, since the exchange announcement came out it has stated that after columbus the winner of MLG will get a direct seed into code S. People need to read more carefully, i was surpised when the announcement came out about how many people didnt know this. This isnt a new announcement they are just stating it again because it is part of the format. Everyone kept reading xeris's post "the problem with korea" and just took what he said as the truth , he obviously didnt read carefully enough either because it has stated since the begining that after MLG columbus the winner of MLG will get a direct seed into code s.

How will they set the studio up?

Idk how easy it is, but they change it quite a bit from GSL, to GSTL.
