Be happy we got a Liquid player in S instead, that's just another reason (as if there weren't a ton already) to keep watching GSL. Plus it's good for the foreigner community to not have an all-korean code s :[

Game 1 MMA went for a 1/1/1 all in, HuK held it after doing a 1-gate expand and MMA was forced to GG after losing his entire army. Game 2 HuK went for a 4-gate with two hidden gateways, MMA was teching and the three bunkers at his natural's entrance weren't able to stop HuK's push.

When it does deflate though, I'm positive he will be a monster. He's progressed in huge bursts since beta, stagnating inbetween each major improvement. Letting some of his ego go is going to be his next big hurdle. Is ego such a terrible thing to have for a Starcraft 2 player? Look what it did for MC. It wasn't even an ego inflating ceremony. It was a celebration that he had a birthday and he stays in Code S. He wasn't putting his opponent down, it was about being really happy for winning. I think that's an important distinction. A ceremony where you're in your opponent's face taunting or gloating is disrespectful (whether you think that's bad or not is up to you). Putting on a birthday hat in your booth is just goofing off for the fans and celebrating a victory.

MC got arrogant and went to the up and down matches against a vastly inferior player that build order exploited his early nexus builds. I'm not going to flame Huk or anything but his ceremony was over the top and a bit disrespectful. Then again the most interesting players are the ones that have an "edge" to them like idrA so I don't really know what to make of Huk. How was it disrespectful?

Seriously? HuK thinks he's one of the best players in the world, and is constantly out to prove it. There's nothing wrong with that, especially because he never talks down other players, and by all accounts, practices a tremendous amount in order to achieve his personal goals.

Characters are good for the scene, especially strong characters because it livens up the scene.. Indeed. MC used to have HUGE problems with nerves in televised matches. His cockiness is probably a method of mentally shielding himself from these nerves. I assume that Huk's joviality is his way of dealing with his nerves.

His all-in was really poorly timed too. Something was going on. His timing in g1 was like 15-20 seconds off.. It was bad, but not gamebreaking, and it could very well have worked. In game 2, what do you think exactly that MMA could have done different from the information he had available? HuK was better today, no doubt in my mind 15-20 seconds is huge in timings/all-ins, especially when you consider that time allowed HuK to get an additional round of warp-ins. In game 2, MMA went for a very, very greedy build even though he should have known that HuK would cheese/be aggressive since he was a game up. Yes, HuK performed better today than MMA (obv since he won), but MMA is a better player overall. Perhaps HuK will improve now that his stay in Code S hasn't been cut short, but today MMA was just slumping. Problem for MMA was, that HuK pushed out, meeting MMA close to the tower - MMA didn't want to fight, but as soon as those forcefields landed behind his tanks, he was screwed.. If that fight had happened at HuK's base and not close to the center, the timing would have been fine.. He should have known that HuK would cheese since he was a game ahead? What kind of logic is that? That is not at all certain.. As a terran player if I scout a protoss and see double gas already at 16, im not really expecting a 4gate.. Maybe that's just me..
