I think that naniwa just realized how far behind he was on tech and essentially gave up. He suicided his army into the meat grinder looking for a fluke win, and when he didnt get it he left. By letting hasuobs get those immortals and colossus out, he pretty much lost himself the game.

I liked the 11gate followed by 3gate robo by hasuobs. You cut probes in the start to get really early warpgates to defend a normal fourgate. That + the 2 immortals almost hard counters NaNis build. GG

Both players with 10-pylon-gate-gas. Naniwa this time with the marginally faster gate.

Comon, don't call that BM... imagine if you're in the semifinals of the TSL and you just COMPLETELY botch a game by misclicking (I guess?); would you honestly be in a state of mind to say to yourself "hold on, I should definatly GG here and think about my reputation"? I'd be frustrated as hell, so it's understandable that he just leaves...

Anyone can gg when they're playing well and winning, only GM players gg even when they're frustrated. That's what makes them GM.

It's not a big deal and no one really cares in the long run, it's just nice to have.

Actually ppl do care in the long run, when these kinds of BMs have accumulated enough. Naniwa has this notoriety since WC3 time.

This. A thousand times this. The frustration when I make a huge mistake that costs me the game makes me just leave without GG, not to disrespect my opponent but because I'm mad at myself and I didn't think I played a good game.

Naniwa looked pretty silver that game. Behind, sees expo, gets more behind/doesnt expand, move commands zlots to no-man's land, gets smashed. rage quits.

The only mistake was the bad engagement. How can you not realize he was going to punish Hasu for expanding when it finished?

Because he wasn't even ahead, LMAO. True, most PVP results in punishment for expo, but he was behind at that point. Mass zlots just don't cut it vs. a well composed, stronger force in better position. Nice try tho

Yeah, mass zealots dont cut anything.

But mass speed zealots with blink stalker support, plus a 20 supply army advantage, that cuts trough immortal/colossus if perfectly micro'd.

wasn't 20 army advantage, watch VOD. even with more supply, most were supply-efficient zlots, which unfortunately return diminished effectiveness in tightly packed engagements due to surface area problems. take that into consideration plus the fact that the other players had a great AOE advantage in that little choke, and there you have it. that's what it looked like to me

Nani massed speed zealots and blink stalkers, while Hasu built immortals and a Colossus, then expanded. Hasu sniped an observer. Nani tried to fake out Hasu's army to send the zealots to take down the probe line, but massively mismicroed the attack and got destroyed. Nani left the game without a GG.

Naniwa's Cybercore finishes first, Hasu's quickly behind. Both players favour scouting for proxies before scouting each other's main.
