I browse TL daily and watch countless tournaments and I haven't yet seen the amazing play yet. Even now we just saw him lose 0-2 to vibe, who isn't exactly a top player. If you have some vods I should watch where he outperforms top players I would love to see them. Considering that Grubby has only been playing sc2 full time for about 6 months and there has been quite few tournaments during this time 'only' having a third place at one of the more stacked LANs this year, as pointed out beating morrow in the bronze match, and a gold in one of the US daily cups is not too shabby. In addition to that I remember watching him during what I think was his first online event, I can't remember if it was DH winter or Assembly or which one it was. I remember it had Martijn and Maven casting and Grubby basically had a one hour stare down with his opponent where he had several chances at ending the game but never took them. I don't even remember who won that game, or who it was against. All I remember is that it was the first Grubby game I saw and that it had been so hyped up because it was Grubby who apparently was a wc3 legend, and how disappointed I was in his play. His macro seemed bad, his decision making seemed off. Most things he was doing seemed off. Since then he has improved immensely. I think I can pretty safely say that I can't think of any other player that has improved as much in this timeframe. Right now he's one of the few protosses I actually look forward to watching simply because of his rapid improvement that has actually brought him to be one of the top foreign protoss players at the moment. | ||
