Not to take anything away from those players, but the least effected by lag region has the best representation. I wish someday that starcraft 2 becomes big enough that this tournament is played on lan (lol LAN, the least likely part of this dream)

They're playing on the American servers so doesn't that mean there should be more American players?

NA to Europe has been proven to be relatively better than NA to Korea.

Not a valid argument.

All Americans has been eliminated by Europeans or Americans. For some reason higher seeds are given an unfair in-game advantage by being able to pick server in the deciding game (drawing lots would've been fair). This has meant Americans has had server advantage in 3 out off 5 matches. Further more: 7 out off 8 qualifiers has been won by players playing from the Europe despite half of them being played on the American server.

I was implying the difficulty for the players on the Korean server to play cross realm.

Ok, fine then.

Thorzain beat MC while both were in europe... no lag there.

Hasu losing battles/expos he shouldn't lose, then BoxeR being clueless as to how to press his advantages. BoxeR overstimming and microing incorrectly against Collossi (splitting instead of kiting)... The BoxeR we saw beat Sen did not show up today. If Hasu makes it to the finals, the winner of Kas/Thorzaine is going to crush him like a bug.

All this nationalism and gamingalism (:D ) is really really annoying. All those players didn't win because of their background or nation but due to their skill. I am a european aswell, is that making me a better player? I don't think so.

Pretty much this. Live GSL world championship foreigners didn't even get close to winning it and MC fly's in a 4-0 in Copenhagen.

Don't underestimate how a live stage affects nerves. MC played tons of televised matches, whereas most europeans haven't. So we could argue foreigners are actually better players but just have to get used to the live pressure.

I guess time will tell. I see the gap extending though not shortening with training houses having a larger impact over time.

Possibly but the Chinese will be coming soon.

I hope so. Wanna see Sky,infi, ted in action.

Sky's brother is playing in the stars war tournament, think i saw one game of infi in beta. ted retired from wc3, but maybe he would make a comeback for sc2 though iunno. one can always hope ofc

If you want to talk about "the end of the old order," please wait until the old order ends.

Any european that thinks they are better should fly to GSL and make 50,000 a month, but they won't, because they know it's not as simple as one tourney.

They also know its not worth spending 3 months trying to win what they could win in one LAN in a weekend in europe/NA.

THIS. I mean how easy do you think it is to have to play in front of a live audience and on TV for the very first time (which was the case for most of those guys that went to GSL).

Give them the same experience as all the Korean players and things will even out. And it`s not like they went there and did not win a match.

Isnt this the age old discussion that is happening since forever? Back at the start of CS it was the EU vs USA debate, in WoW its always been the same, so i'm not suprised to see it in SC2 as well. Though it is the most useless debate possible, but i guess people like being nationalistic
