I think both things are possible. Lag affecting boxer's micro is certainly a possibility, doesn't mean drewbie's micro wasn't good.

Drewbie holds with Hellions out. Boxer's floating barracks scouts Drewbie's medivac building. Boxer a bit behind in supply, though his scouting barracks survives. Drewbie preparing a push. Tank already out for boxer, and viking building. Drewbie expanding behind his push, and tries to do an elevator but gets repelled. The medivac gets picked off by a Viking.
