It wasn't a rage quit, sure he didn't wait 5 minutes so that he lost is whole army again but he had already basically lost. The drop was so incredible unsuccessful and did almost no damage apart from killing the 2 collosus and costing 1 round of warp ins on 3 gateways. Morrow was broke, invested heavily into hydralisk drops and stuck on 2 bases while Hasuobs was taking a third. Maybe he should have played on in the hope that Hasuobs would make a mistake, but Hasuobs was never going to let him take a 3rd and Morrow has no way to stop Hasuobs' third.

*Insert hallucinations joke*

not.

Everyone says "don't let Protoss play a macro game", which is fair, so lets try early aggression. Well, as it turns out you more or less need to all-in if you want to be aggressive early on as Zerg, it depends a bit on the map. It's not cheese, don't blame him for trying and no, this is not balance whine.

There's a BIG difference between all-ining and being aggressive.

I watched the games, and I liked them all. Just was strange to me to find so much discordance.

Sloppy drop play from morrow in the final game, he could have won it, had he microed better. Grats Hasu, been rooting for him since the infamous beta game between him and TLO

Nah, once it's scouted it's pretty much over.
He can't drop effectively, and if he doesn't then he's way too far behind. Overlord speed + drop + hydras + grooved spines off of 2-base is all-in. It worked the first time because hasu opened Stargate.

Cause it took something creative, crazy, or awesome for Morrow to win. Watch the games yourself. Zerg won = cool game. Toss won = kinda boring/anticlimatic

well hasuobs defense was great , you have to admit

Yeah, I'm not taking away from hasuobs. Its just the way it panned out today. Also, Morrow's GG's were all warranted, but also before the final climax, so kind of a bummer.

Yeah, whole sc2 community is fucked up :D You will never see a RR in gosugamer if there is a zerg who loses, and almost all games on TL.net where zerg loses is not recommended Well, I don't really care, because I never watch replays based on poll's votes.

how is it fucked up? games with zergs winning usually are way more epic and longer.

whoever says no doesnt respect hasuobs defense :/

Hasu didnt win, morrow lost, every unit was doing its own thing. small group attacking pylon, small group trying to kill a col, small group standing around. i dont understand what you think was so impressive with his defense.

ehm... he anticipated the drop perfectly, put cannons in his main before the drop happens, scouts for it permenently and puts all units on the edge where do drpo happens / puts forcefields on drop-positions to delay the drop...

this is so smart, you do not even recognize how morrow lost half of his units before this "army split" that didnt changed anything, since it was over before.

You and everyone else needs to recognize that a scouted drop is bound to fail in almost every situation..

still games are recomended when zergs do some shitty wins by beneling busts by when protoss defends all in like a hero thousands idralings vote NO .... sad

[citation needed]

What heroic protoss defenses against all-ins are you referring to that everyone is dissing?

How were Morrow's wins against Jinro "shitty"? Yes, he went all in -- *everyone* goes all in at some point, and Morrow saw an opportunity and seized it. This wasn't shitty, it was great fun to watch.

qft diabolus, i think just a few saw those ffs preventing morrow to drop on the edge, and of course the cannons which saved him the day

what`? why hdstarcraft? how should he know?

I have no idea how he knows. But the games are not casted live so he could have found out as hes fairly high up.

All im saying is that he spoils the results of that series so just dont watch that particular match. just throwing out the warning cuz it annoyed me

EDIT: my bad it was infact the cruncher series he spoils it in. just remembered

Was posted before, TSL admin said game was even played out until then. Far more likely that that commentator just got his facts wrong.

The games that Morrow won in this series were a lot more exciting as a spectator. Simple as that.

Tbh that might be because morrow didn't allow 2/3 of hasuobs wins to be fun. I mean its hard to find a game fun when one player just gives up, even if he is behind/going to loose.

Zerg just isn't a comeback race. You might as well save yourself a lot of frustration. In my opinion though, when it's the deciding match of a series in the best tournament evah, I wouldve played it out just hoping I'd get lucky.

Because zerg wins against protoss have historically involved some sort of ambitious, ballsy, oddball early aggression/drop play -- Idra vs. Cruncher game 2, some of the Idra vs. HuK games, and Morrow's first win in this series. These things are exciting to watch.

Zerg losses against protoss, in contrast, involve a-moved deathballs, 4gate, or 6gate. These things are typically not exciting.

Then why was game 5 not recommended?

Actually are these polls even going into the OP?

Morrow is a macro player in my eyes, i dont see a lot of strategy in his play which is fine (maybe apart from baneling bust), his macro seems pretty solid. But things like drops seem to be something he might be uncomfortable with or hasnt experimented enough with. He knew it would be the perfect thing to do but i think if he stuck to his normal style he woulda have had a better chance.

The terminus game seemed super lucky.

Im sure he is kicking himself after that.

Actually i was impressed at how many stuff he showed in those matches. I expected him to get rolled 3:0 in macro games, but he at least was trying something to avoid getting deathballed. So i guess he prepared well.

Agreed. Another thing to consider is he was playing a teammate. I bet he knew Hasu had his style down pat so he might have been outside his comfort zone to throw him off. Some times it worked, other times it didn't. It certainly wasn't masterful execution, but he really put out an effort to be different and surprising after getting rolled in game 1 with his "traditional" style.

ppl who say morrows wins were more entertaining should play action games, not strategy games...

protoss is bound to play defensive unless they allin, timingpush or do airharassment - there is simply no window to create "wow what impressive play" moments.

thats why it looks so easy to play protoss, but it defenetly is not... morrow wouldve crushed most Ps out there with the games he showed us today.
