Great tournament, really enjoyed all the matches and everything in between the matches. MC proves he is a monster, especially when he goes for the early kill, but he was in a tough spot in all the matches. WhiteRa and Morrow almost had him. Idra, shrug. I don't get that guy..... his game is soooo good, but he always fukks up. He outplays the world champion in 90% of that epic game, and then he just instant-lose with poor play. And after a great performance but with one misstake he just gives up in game 2? Such potential.....such a waste.

Just tuned into the vods and wow was I impressed. Good casting, good video quality, sick games, and the interviews were such a nice touch. Looking forward to more dreamhack related stuff in the future.

Almost forgot to mention, the casting by Apollo and Demuslim was AWESOME! They had a really really good chemistry and defined roles. Apollo was more of the play-by-play guy, don't get me wrong I think he had some great insight aswell, while Demuslim was more of the expert analyzing and explaining what was happening and why. I felt like nobody was taking too much room. For me this was maybe the greatest caster duo I've seen.

If IdrA doesn't buck up his ideas I can see EG dropping him. Incontrol seemed seriously pissed about IdrA's conduct in SotG at dreamhack. I stayed up till 230 or something to watch IdrA vs. MC then I get 1 retardedly awesome game that IdrA should have won if he was multi pronging, then a 6 pool... I was like fuck this guy.

I fell asleep before the final though wish I didn't have to go to work to watch the end but it was definitely one of the best tournaments I've seen so far, and I like the guy just introducing the games and chatting with the fans... a definitely AWESOME structure that others should try to replicate. Involving the fans and stuff like that made it one of the most awesome things to watch!

EG won't drop Idra because he brings in a lot of fans and he's still their best player.

EG can't drop idra, or the entire "play to win" mantra is bullshit and out the window.

IdrA wins more than than the other EG members, anything else should not matter.

This was an awesome tourney. I didn't have time to watch it live, but the VODs were up super fast and I'm just now finishing up watching it all. I thought the casters were great and the crowd was the best I've seen/heard outside of Korea. The interaction between the crowd, the casters and the interviewer/interviewee was really great and added a lot to the overall kickassness. They would cheer for funny things at random times, which I'm sure had the players totally confused.

Great job Dreamhack!

Was really pulling for White-ra in the finals, and he was only one game way from winning it! Always looking forward to him playing in tournaments. Great tournament overall, saw some pretty good games today.

White-Ra played awesome, I'm a White-Ra fanboy since the beginning of SC2 But MC played so freaking solid. He knew he had to win every game, so he decided to 4gate, 4gate and proxygate. Yeah, that's not very entertaining to watch and it hurts to see Ra not standing a chance. But MC just played so solid in this last three games and his mechanics were simply amazing. And White-Ra had some pretty big mistakes in his games there, unfortunately. Even as a big White-Ra fan: MC deserved those 3 wins.

But I will still cheer for the man who cares. RAAAAA HWAIITING!

Well it's pretty straight forward; play to win - if you don't understand that you have never understood competition.. It's kind of sad about all the uproar; MC doesn't care about you, he cares about winning everything and being the best

I agree Mr. PlasmaBall

Agree.

And I think MC did not gamble on his proxy 2BG decision. Shakuras Plateau is only 156x128, it's not a big map and in the final the start point is decided to be diagonal. The distance is like thte Steppes of War.

I remember MC did some very good proxy BG fight when the Steppes of War was still in the map pool of GSL. I mean he was very confident of this kind of fight, even if White-ra found the gate or the pylon, he still have enough chance to win. IMO if it is not gambling, it is just another strategy.

I love White-ra's personality and his great plays, but he did made some errors in the final. And I still love him even he lost. I enjoy watching MC's match because I wonder how perfect a protoss player can be, and how the other pro-players manage to win.

MC didn't win with 2 4gates. He did 4gate, 3gate blink (maybe added a 4th gate after), then proxy. It was 3 different builds.

MC wasn't gambling very hard. His proxy 2gate had a better chance to win than his amazing 4gate which is why he opted for the 2gate. He knew that White-Ra was skipping the first zealot in 4 out of 4 of their games that day. White-Ra opened 1 gate core every game as well. The odds of White-Ra doing those two things again were really high. MC chose a build that perfectly counters it. Even if scouted, the pylon was deliberately put OUTSIDE the base so that probes would have to run the long way around to attack it. Gateways have tons of HP and MC was going to be able to chrono out zealots before White-Ra could kill the Gateways. At best, White-Ra would've seen it early enough to get a fast forge or 2nd gateway and try to micro it out. MC has better micro so he still would've had a chance.

No... (and yeah, kinda embarrassed me cause it took so long to find it)

But over on the right there is a part 1, part 2, part 3 button to watch it. The first idra tlo game is in a seperate video, but all the rest of the tourney is in the one long video its just in 3 parts.

I can't say this enough... Great event!
