Whitera is one of the few foreigners that has the skill to beat MC convincingly..

THIS. plus the reason is simple theyre not hating on the cheese, they hating on MC's baller personality and they wont admit it. I suppose Boxer was more like TLO in terms of personality but they get intimitated by MC's total ballerness.

Seems like alot of people hating on MC, lol hes one of the best players in the world your going to have to get used to him winning
Yea this mc hate is pretty wack actually, he outplayed everyone in that tournament, some of the games were close but he is a small level above everyone there, i think his performance was even slightly dissapointing, he should have just 3-0'd whitera instead of losing the first 2 games and then 3-0 , im sure thats what he expected out of himself and its what i expected out of him also. He is a much better player then whitera wich he has proved 2 times now since whitera won against him in the WC teamleague

MC really is in Boss-mode right now. Such top form, he should be given more credit for it than the foreigner scene gives him. WR played well but really, MC as a whole, is playing to his class' strengths so well when it matters.

Will there be any replays avaliable? I hope to learn from Sjow vs Huk Sorry if this has been asked and answered before.

You didn't say anything to imply it wasn't either. You just said that these games show that PvZ is imbalanced and said you havent seen one win a tournament in ages that a Z won. Someone posted 2 examples of tournaments that Z won that were recent. You can't just pop in a thread on TL with "My guy lost and the matchup is imbalanced". Not going on elitist status as I don't have alot of post compared to many but in time you'll see that on TL you can't just make a statement like that and it go unchallenged (or a warning depending on the thread)
Not trying to sound like a jerk or anything really. Just letting you know. I still respect your opinion but don't agree with it.

By losing a Bo3 then a Bo5 to MC? He's not convincingly able to beat MC. He can eek out wins since MC isn't perfect, but MC is clearly a better player. MC's control is just too good, and as we know from Broodwar JvZ, the player with the best control will dominate his mirror match up.

What more does a player have to do? People calling him cheesy are just flat out wrong. He does whatever he best suits the situation, based on the map, his opponent's style, and what he scouts. He's good at every style of play and wins with every style of play.
Do people honestly think a no rush 15 final game would've been better? That's ridiculous. The most exciting match of their while series was how $15,000 rested on White-Ra's probe just barely missing MC's probe. That's edge of your seat excitement much more than 10 vs 10 colossus.
What more does a player have to do? Be a foreigner and play zerg, then you are all set :D

If MC had cheesed in G3 people wouldn't have complained as much, even if he took the series, I promise you.

Until MC slumps, he's the good brain brotoss. White-Ra outplayed MC in two games, MC outplayed White-Ra in two games, and a coinflip won the last game. It's pretty obvious that White-Ra can at least fight at the same level as MC.

Got back from this tournament live a few minutes ago, this was so fucking sick live. Probably the best money I have ever spent.
|
This was one of the few -or even the only?- really well organised tournaments that ever existed for SC2 outside Korea/GOM.
Amazing quality free stream, tight and perfectly working schedule -even though bnet/technics didn't work fine for 15 minutes, next game was just 3 minutes behind schedule!-, no unncessary delays, great audience and commentating.

Only thing i dislike about the cheese was that it was game 5 and a real anti climax, i wouldnt mind at all if he did it game 1 or 2 for an easy win and a mind game but on game 5 it just feels shitty and like a desperation move.
But a great tournament really enjoyed it.

i feel also a bit dissapointed course of the finals but its unfair to blame one of the players (especially MC) for that. its more a feeling that the last game where not what u expected as a fan (of SC2). Overall i am not a fan of pvps but its not the fault of the players and both showed in the hole tournament that they deserved to be in the finals. (Both showed really good games against the other competitors and also in the first games of that series).
Also this is to apply for idra but i think he has some problems with his mindsets in the pvz match up which he needs to work on. In my Opinion he focuses to much on the "imba" toss QQing (sry if i sound rude, have no idea how to say it better) and should focuses more on the game instead of given up early
and at least it was an awesome event nice work Dreamhack

Whitera didn't know there were only 2 spawn positions. Pretty much. He must have known, but I guess its easy to forget in such a high stakes game. Having played the same map tons of times before without fixed spawn positions problably doesnt help in these tense situations either. I've seen so many tournaments and cups lately were players is seemingly unaware of fixed positions on these customized standard ladder maps, but this is the first game I've seen where it seemingly directly effected the outcome. In this case it didn't matter that much. MC almost had this game wrapped up even before White-Ra's probe reached the 9 o'clock base. It turned a 90% victory into a 100% victory, and White-Ra knew it as he GG'd out.
Hm.. I rewatched the vod of that game, and I agree. When white-ra gets to the top left position his own gateway is just finished. MC gets his first zealot out right after, with his second good on the way. If MC saw that he got scouted there and then he would most likely walk his zealot in right away (not waiting for 3). He might have had a theoretical chance of making it with some insane worker/zealot micro, but yeah..slim if any Also, I noticed that white-ra didnt 9 scout on xel'naga either, so it had no relevance what so ever. Great read by MC. Adapting to white-ra's build and punish it.

I don't judge MCs playstyle because he's doing what's good (it's not his fault that PvP is like this) while still beeing creative from time to time (3 gate blink observer 5 gate into expo) and still beeing good with that.
Still, yes, I do like Boxers and White-Ra's and Dimaga's and HasuObs' and TLO's personality better than MC's or Idra's. Is it really that outdated to say that a sense of decency and friendlyness make good character traits that make a person more likeable? Sure, it's funny when Idra and HuK bash each other in public, but that won't make me their fan since it makes them persons I probably wouldn't personally like. There are so many better mannered players out there who are so likeable and deserve it much more to be cheered for.
