I haven't posted any QQ posts here but I can understand people who did. Even Hotbid and Nazgul posted here asking why the hell people are reacting like they are but isn't them just supporting players?

I mean lets take footballs world cup as a example. Lets say I'm supporting my favorite team to win it, I don't really care if there is better teams or some other team could/is providing me better games. I still want MY team to win.

When my team isn't playing I totally just want to enjoy the game and I apperciete when teams play awesome skilled football, but when my team plays I just want them to win.

I accept that MC outplayed Whitera in that last game, mindgames wise at least but that doesn't mean I will be "Oh MC so great, you're such a good player" :f No. I wanted him to lose.

Even in other sports people go crazy and bm the other team. I'm not saying it's acceptable but it just shows they are super passioned about their favorite players. Why is it so bad that people cheer for their player to win even if the other player is playing better (sorta)

Of course bm is not really tolerated here so I can understand the few bans but people shouldn't be surprised that people are biased towards their favorite player. I can and do appreciate good games/series but I still want my fav player to win.
Why E-sports should only be us appreciating good games, we do but we want our favorite players to win ^^

Cool post, wanted to post something similar but you've said it better.

The tournament has been a huge disappointment for me for the exact same reason - all of Liquid got knocked out (again -_-) in the first round, and White-Ra lost in the final against a player I dislike the most in the SC2 scene.

The tournament may have been fantastically organized and the winner might have deserved the title, but that won't make me as a fan any less pissed off. I don't blame anybody for it (and in fact I haven't even posted in this thread except once so far), but I wish people would understand that if a tournament ends badly for the players they love, a lot of fans are going to be pissed off no matter what.

It's perfectly normal, especially after a painful loss like the one White-Ra had.

people need to put me me me thinking thoughts aside, and understand that this is professionals that are playing. They don't care about anything other than winning. It's BUSINESS. Just enjoy the game, and if you can't keep the negative thoughts away from public no one cares.

People need to realize that this is a job for players, this is how they make money for living, by winning.
They are not playing the game for fun or entertainment.

Hell if i was in the finals and having the chance to win 15k$, id play as dirty as possible.. Id even go and like take out the batteries or spill some soda over opponents keyboard, or basically do anything that might give me an edge over the opponent.

Of course they will do whatever it takes to win and cheese counts as a win as much as a 40 min long macro game.
In the end the guys and sponsors that pay the checks dont care that the winner won by cheese or long macro games, they care that by his name theres a number 3 and by opponents is a number 2.
Also trophies, medals nor money dont care if u won them by cheese or not, neither if u deserved them or not.

I agree with you up to a point. It seems like you would be OK with people cheating to win. Of course, cheating in any sport undermines the entire sport, hence why players who are caught cheating are banned and their awards rescinded.

Cheesing of course, is not cheating. Anything you can do within the game is not cheating. I would even argue that taking advantage of bugs via normal gameplay is not even cheating (the onus would be on the game creators to patch the game not the player to not take advantage of it).

Is faking a foul in football cheating ?
Is what Materazzi did to Zidane in 2006 WC finals cheating ?
Is what Suarez did against Ghana cheating?
No, thats playing to win.

Idra also 6 pooled Jinro, does that mean ZvT is broken and Terran needs a nerf as well?

Great tournament. Exciting final as well. I'm looking forward to DreamHack Summer 2011

Well. I can say i would like some longer games for the final but guess what its PvP. One of the most micro intensive and "special tacticks" dependant match up.
The last game by MC was pretty good. He noticed that White-Ra didnt go zaelot first in previous games so he decided to go for 2 proxy gates pressure. Also White-Ra made a few scouting mistakes.
Wasn't the map rigged that you can spawn only in cross-positions? If he scouted right he might have made the forge in time. And the second mistake was not scouting his base. Quoting Day9 (or chill) from last TSL broadcast. Even if you scout and for 99% you will not find anything but in that 1% of cases it could save you your life. It was a big gamble but it payed off. If i remember correctly MC lost on that map in GSL WC Team match (he got basically out microed) so he might have some doubts in going in with normal build.

And do you know how you will feel when Liquid players make it far and the player you dislike most in the SC2 scene gets defeated ?
It's going to be an AWESOME feeling.
This time you have to suck it up, but next time will be next time.

Competition is about losing & winning. You cannot always have one.

One of the most epic games ever in BW was the one in the OSL finals where Boxer SCV+Marine rushed yellow. Crazy stuff happens.

This DH finals game 5 could have been awesome had WR not scouted a position where MC could not have spawned. He might have defended and turned the game into a really fun situation.

QFT! I never get why people in sc2 hate cheese THAT much in box tournament series. In bw lr threads their is so much hype if someone pulls out a well executed cheese and the defender tries to hang in their. In sc2 lr threads their's just hate.

Especially when it's a Bo5 with 0 practice/preparation time. There is almost certainly going to be at least one game where there's cheese.

The mods keep being the most intelligent beings of all. lol.
Imo I get really excited when I watch someone do something ridiculously cheesy. 4 gates can get dull after a while, but f*cking proxy gateways in your base never gets boring. It's so intense.

Exactly, just another level of enjoying the game. The beauty of unpredictability.

Why? Not about the nerfs part but about it being a testament. Idra had game 1 before premature gg and tried something new game 2, not very well prepared to 6 pool tbh (not right map/player w/e) or he simply pulled an Idra and gave up on the match. I don't think Idra is any evidence the mu is in need of balancing anymore, he's proven to be too volatile to play to his true level. MorroW is a better player to use and I wouldn't even class him as even to MC yet, no offense.

I think IdrA is still trying too much to play this game like it's Brood War. He had MC pinned, but a few key mistakes in things like army positioning and engagement timing just made it seem like he had already given up.

Maybe ur trolling too much and not actually watching games, ur hero Idra himself took down Socke and not so long ago Sen took down Naniwa 3-2 in ace game of the GCPL finals.

Sure, game 1 didn't have anything to do with the recent protoss whines though (forcefield, voidray colossus deathball). But meh ppl can't appreciate a real pvz macro game when they see one during this "toss is op" phase.
