Why exactly would you put Nestea "aside"? He's the only legitimate Zerg player with sufficient experience and the most solid BW background apart from July, and now July is coming around and showing some results as well.

FruitDealer is the only other Zerg with genuine potential and he's playing horrible lately (and that's his fault and his fault alone), TheWind is a coach, Zenio, Leenock and Kyrix just aren't that level of player (and Idra's in this group as well) yet - that's why you can't compare them to Nestea in the first place.

Out of the Zerg players on Korean scene, pretty much only Losira is showing promise and rising through the ranks lately, and I predict he'll do quite well in Code S if the brackets don't match him against another actual top player too early.

Ret lost 1-2 every game which kinda sucks. Hopefully he'll be able to get thru the loser bracket, unfortunately he won't be seeded very high.

Ret doesn't hit any loser brackets. He's auto seeded into the Championship bracket because he was in pool play. He'll just be lower seeded than his group mates

Actually, he will be seeded in the loser's bracket. All pool players #2-#5 get seeded into the Loser's bracket of the Championship bracket. So after he plays against the fifth member of his pool, all future matches he plays will be for elimination.

You don't need to read 50 pages. The first link in the first post on the first page explains the format.

So, I'm sure this has been asked and explained, but in the 50 or so pages I looked, couldn't find the answer.

How is the tournament going to proceed? We have 4 groups, then we have 4 or 8 (?) people emerging from open brackets to go into the groups? How is this going to develop? Top 2-4 to advance from group play into Ro8 or Ro16? etc. Thanks.

it's in the OP man

So you are presuming they are failing not because they are zerg, but because they are bad. I guess all the zerg players are just bad then, according to you. Very reasonable. You are also ignoring the the fact foreigner zergs aren't producing results at all either. Most current "top" foreigners weren't good BW players even by foreigner standards. I said Nestea aside because he is pretty much the only zerg player in the world showing somewhat consistent results. Losira was a no name BW player, making your argument logically even more inconsistent.

This is a pretty pointless argument that won't go anywhere, but you aren't just making much sense.

If I remember correctly replays could take anything from 5 min to 4 days in previous MLG's.

IdrA is just saying he is better, which is the truth, he is way better than all these players. The point is in SC2 not always the best player wins

He loses => he's not better. He just has better mechanics. And one think he is too stupid or stubborn (or both) to understand, is that it's the game creator who makes the rules, not the players. He can think of excuses all the time, he might have a somewhat constant opinions about the state of the game, but it's poker players like KiWiKaKi who will always swipe the floor with him

You don't understand the game nor RTS games in general. Even in BW, which is much more skill rewarding and balanced, the worse players win all the time.

Honestly, guy has a point. IdrA hasn't had a lot to show for recently, and I'm an IdrA fan so it's very disappointing. I keep thinking he'll just absolutely tear shit up somewhere but instead other Z just get further than him.

I don't think it's just an anti-fluke (no idea if that's a term), he's just not impressing as much lately. Maybe it'll change in this tournament, maybe not.

He didn't play all that well against Kiwikaki, but in general zergs haven't been doing well.

Don't blame the race, Jesus. He's not been doing well lately, not compared to the domination he had before. At the same time other Z are doing incredibly well, just look at Dimaga's latest performance.

Dimaga won ZvZ, went 1-1 against a terran (if you count the game he would have lost) and lost 1-3 against a protoss

Slush is doing fine ^^. I suppose Haypro is doing well but he has to make his way through that Open Bracket, which seems quite the task. I don't know some of the people who are still in the Winner's Bracket of the Open Bracket, but I'm sure some are Zerg.

Well, Idra is 2-1 too and Slush had a much easier group, at least for a Zerg.

Err, I guess IdrA is just the best player in the world with the most lackluster results. What? How can you not see that he's not having the results he used to?

Fuck, he said July's zerg won't work at all but look what happened.

4 times in GSL is lackluster results? In that case there are only 2 or 3 zergs in the world with actual results.

Well there were only 2 or 3 Zergs in the world that were actually good players (for that level) until some 5-6 months ago. CheckPrime was considered to be one of, if not the, best Zerg at the time, and that tells you everything.

Being 4 times in GSL isn't an achievement for a top player. It's an achievement for an up-and-coming top player. It would be an achievement for HuK for example.

For a touted "one of the best players in the world", losing to LotzePrimes of the world only due to blatant inability to scout and adapt is just bad. It just is. Out of his 4 times in the GSL, he's only been in RO8 once and it's his highest, and even that's only borderline success for a top player.

Yes there are a lot of top players who didn't do a lot better than Idra, but do you think they consider their results to be "good" and their runs to be "successful" if they get knocked out in ro32/16? No top player is going to consider that to be anything more than a lackluster result.

Idra won one MLG and that's pretty much all he did.

Despite blatant trolling, I'll play along. There is a grand total of 23 players that has thus far placed 8th or higher in one or more GSL;

Talin has standards! There's almost two dozen players in the whole world with similar stats to IdrA! Obviously, then, IdrA is not a world-class, top player. To be bestowed the title of "Top Player" by Talim, IdrA has gotta get better stats than that! It's not like IdrA is the only one ever to improved his standing in every GSL, oGsMC did also, and that's two too many players!
Thank God and gunrun.

So what is up with Ret? I thought he was supposed to be really good according to Idra, Artosis, Day9 etc. But all I see him do is losing.

Grubby and HuK stand a very good chance to make it out of the Open brackets. Going to be hard for them tbh, they play their Open round 5 match, to get into top 4 (I'm not sure if they play even more games to sort seeding after that) and then they have to play another 4 Bo3s against their group to get seeded. Thats going to take an awful lot of energy out of the players.

Best of luck to the players who make it out of the open!

I think he's not the player to practice alot.

The worst case scenario is after playing 6 sets tomorrow, they placed last in their group and have to get up early Sunday and start playing at 10AM for a potential of 8 more sets.
