Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |

Two of those 7 players aren't going to make it... We already know Boxer is in because xeris has essentially said so, so we get 4 players from Nada, MC, Morrow, Demuslim, Fruitdealer, July. Also, Incontrol said "oGs has some people in the league", so i'm guessing that means more than 2... so it'll probably be Boxer, MC, Nada + 2 more.
So, Morrow, Demuslim, Fruitdealer, July. Which 2 are going to be rejected? I can't imagine any reasoning behind not inviting Morrow... I literally cannot think of a single reason. So, it comes down to
Demuslim, Fruitdealer July. Which 2 will be rejected? I still can't believe players like dde/vibe are going to take spots from gsl finalists on a tournament that's *supposed* to invite off results.
Very good breakdown. I would guess that Fruitdealer / Demuslim are left out. FD hasn't been so impressive for a while, and Demuslim was injured.
I would make the tiers: Morrow, MC - 100%, top-level foreigner and MC Boxer, Nada, July FD, Demuslim

Neither of them applied due to the time zone differences and GSL. They thought it would be better to use that time to practice for GSL / sleep.

I can see Fruitdealer not making it simply because his play has been rather weak lately. The only good recent matches I've seen him in were the last up/down matches.
Hm, now that I think of it Demuslim would be a good choice simply because it would give the UK a player in the NASL (assuming he doesn't get in any more bar fights! j/k =) ). Did you see his match against Mvp on GSTL2? It was awesome. And he is way better than many of the selected, so the "not making because his play is rather weak lately" isn't an good excuse imho. //tx
Actually, no, I didn't see GSTL2...which sucks for me.
Yes, of course he definitely is way better some of the people who are already in. But they ARE already in and I highly doubt that the list is going to change. I'm just comparing him to the vast list of players who can possibly make the last 5 slots. How would you choose the last 5 slots? People right now want Boxer, Nada, MC, July, Fruitdealer, Bomber, Morrow, Demuslim, Minigun, Kas, Clide (and more). Who do you feel should be kicked out to fit fruitdealer? Of course, perhaps if I'd seen the GSTL2 I'd have a different opinion...

pitiful north american nepotism league, i was thinking of buying a HD pass or w/e but rather not now cause they just lost so much legitimacy throughout this process.
accomplishments my ass.
incontrol sitting there with a whopping 200 bucks off sc2 accomplishments while 100k prize winner FD or 1 of the best Brood war players EVER to play and so many players like supernova(WHO nada called the best of Code S) are going to be let out for players with NO Popularity and NO accomplishments. i completely agree with Guilt's post i understand grubby, he has 1 of the 2. same with artosis. but players like Vibe, DDE with neither popularity or accomplishments. u have no explanation nasl that will back up this.

division 4 has 2 P and 4 T... not 4 P and 2 T. yea i noticed that and just edited. thanks though. Still wrong, you now have division 4 with 3Z when there is only 2
I think we will end up getting 1T 2P 2Z, going to be a hard choice between boxer / nada :O

Morrow sure, but I think this list was finalized before the TSL started? Pretty hard to blame them for that, isn't it?

What avout AdelScott ? :/

Thats dumb, whole point is to make changes.. if one player comes out that completely dominates the scene between their finalization of selections and the announcement, u should be allowed to remove someone and put him in there..

That iss fair to the players... seriously? SERIOUSLY?

wat.
So we should never have a bonjwa of sc2? so we should make it a system that doesn't reward solid play and total mastery of the game?
wat.

I thought the whole point was just to create more hype. And no, just because someone does really well in a recent tournament doesn't make it fair to remove someone else.
Remember, this? Players notified of acceptance/rejection: MARCH 18th, 2011 11:59 p.m. PST $250 security deposit per player due: MARCH 20th, 2011 11:59 p.m. PST
TSL day 1 was March 19th.
So you think they should tell someone that they made it and to get them a $250 security deposit, and then turn around the next day and say "oh, actually another guy did really well today, so you're out".
Maybe you think it should be ok to do that, but I sure don't. That's not fair at all to the players.
|
Also, we shouldn't forget, the first season only takes 2 months, so the bad players will be removed really fast (8 per season, and I can hardly choose 8 "bad" players right now)
|
thats exactly my point, u have players like vibe and dde that have no accomplishments. then u have no way of backing them up in why they are in this league versus players like adel, thorzain, mondragon that should be in this league but aren't. i mean adel has been consistent in LAns throughout sc2.
|
OP:
please update to include the following players:
ST_Rainbow oGsEnsnare ST_Squirtle Liquid`Ret oGsZenio

Maybe they were looking for a specific server ratio. You just mentioned NA players and proposed to replace them with EU players.

bottom 16 go to the play offs, top 8 of those play-offs get back into next season. The other 8 spots are filled by the top 8 of a open qualifier.
