It seems that Huk plays very standard, usually 3 gate expand or forge expand. I haven't seen him do powerful all in builds against zerg/terran too much in a BO3/5. Huk's play and decision making are great late game but he seems to take a lot of risk early game for that. If Losira studies this he is at a danger of going out to a well executed roach rush in response to a fast expand.

Watching game 3 of huk vs revival I just.. I don't even know what to say. The zerg won the game and then refused to make anything other than roach/ling, probably overdroned and just let huk win it. What a ridiculous game haha, the zerg player was clearly better but I guess he just figured the game was over by the time huk had pretty much mined out his main/nat and was still stuck in that contain unable to get a third.

and now the ultra switch vs 24523 immortals omfg i cant take it

Judging from his play thus far, huk is gonna go down when he has to face another race or a zerg that doesn't completely suck. It's probably gonna be ugly.

does the guy who wins code A get code S automatically because they get to take idra's place?

Huk vs Revival game 3 - best game I've seen after MC vs Rain on LT.

You must not watch very many games. The whole game was Huk turtling off 2 base, while Zerg got an amazing eco advantage. Just to throw it away on Hive Tech units. Had Zerg just got drops he could have ended game with a victory.

Could definately be a possibility. But I wonder what will happen to the other Code S player that will be in his Up&Down Group. Seems a bit unfair if the winner of Code A just choose a team member from Code S + the Idra spot to make sure, they both will be in Code S next season...

Huks lategame vs Z is so unbelievably good, maybe the best in the world right now. It's not that the Z was bad, it's that Huk plays so flawlessly and capitalizes on every single little mistake the Z makes that the Z just look terrible.

No the zerg was just really bad. Not denying third expansion. Not teching while he was ahead. And then even late game he had every opportunity to win. He did the only thing he shouldn't have in pumping ultras against zealots and immortals :s

It really was a combination of the two. Baller HT usage by huk allowed him to claw back into the game when he shouldn't have been able to, and revival's (stupid) decision to make dumb army compositions when he could afford ANYTHING, and to continue remaxing on purely ultralisks (why would you ever want an army of pure ultra, anyway? Let alone when the opponent is like 50% archon/immortal) multiple times combined with huk's pretty good army placement allowed huk to continue to claw his way to a win.

Simply put, if huk wasn't as good he'd never have won the engagements that BROUGHT the game to the point of "lol i guess ill just keep killing ultralisks to win"

You guys act like Huk doesn't know what he's doing. Everyone plays on the ladder and he knows what works and doesn't. He shouldn't have won game 3 but give him some credit.. geez. These games some times come down to a couple mistakes... your opponent is gonna jump on that shiiii... Revival is going to remember that game... that's what losing is about

Huk fighting!

Im inclined to believe that most other protosses in GSL and elsewhere would have crumbled to revival in that position. Sometimes people get outplayed to get themself into a bad spot. Thought he was not in control of that game, he took the situation he got himself into and then played perfectly from then on out. If anything, its a learning experience for him that alot of other players may never get to have. I would say HuK benefited more from that game 3 than anything else. Stuff like that builds character and helps you both stay out of that position in the future and also not freak out if something similar happens again.

One thing huks got going for him is that he seems to play better in situations with more pressure. Game 1 of the Ro32 he started off shakey and went behind, but then started playing crazy good for the rest of the day. Ro16 his best execution came when it needed to. If he could turn that into always being present he is capable of winning everything IMO. He plays world class about 50% of the time.. .if that number gets higher hes gonna win one.

Uhm no, GanZI played quite good against HayprO. He just has not that perfect unit control. But today he was like...another player was in his body and controlled him. His makro was way worse, that against HayprO and he did tons and tons of missmicro and -decisions. Kinda sad about that happened.

Btw. I'm really really impressed by Losira (his scouting and reads+reaction, wow) and Leenock. He shows that he has so much talent and game scence while being very creative. I want him so badly back in Code S.

The negative comments about Huk not playing well are retarded. He went for greedy builds, made 1 mistake of moving out in game 1 and the Zerg capitalized perfectly. Gets all-in'd hard and defends very well to the point where he had like a 1% chance of losing after that in game 2. In game 3 I'm sure he'd be the first to admit his midgame plan was not well designed for Revival's double expand into heavy heavy roach on that map because he gave up a lot of map control, but his decision-making and execution after that point was incredible and he played it as well as anybody. He got a ton out of his force fields and immortals and handled the brood lords really patiently. Zerg's max is way weaker than Protoss's max so his defensive approach after letting Revival's econ get going with the 3rd base was really good. The only thing Revival could do was keep making brood lords, infestors, and roaches, but Huk was sniping the brood lords really well with stalkers and his infestors died pretty much instantly so you can't blame him that much for his decision to bring in ultras. Both players played really well but Huk is clearly the better player there. Losira is going to be a serious challenge but it's really no worse than 50/50 and I think it's pretty obvious that people are forgetting how weak Zerg is vs Protoss right now. It's also pretty obvious people are underestimating Huk vs code S players as well. The edges any of these players have over each other is really small and Huk is figuratively in the same league as any of the Code S Protoss players right now. It would be a completely different story if he was a Zerg player.

Huk's matches definitely could have gone the other way with just a few changes.

Had an observer been out a bit quicker in game 1, that initial roach push likely would have gotten stuck on the ramp and not been able to burrow at the expansion while reinforcements arrived. Huk cleans that out, FF's the ramp, and from there, the all-in fails and Huk dominates.

Had the roach rush in game 2 gone after the 2 exposed pylons then the forge, instead of the cannons (which were way back) then Huk would have been unable to make more cannons, as well as being able to warp in 1 less unit. Possible that Revival takes it right there.

In the third match, as Tasteelly said, Huk was under 400 minerals per patch. Zerg just had to hold the contain a bit longer, and the game was essentially done. Two or three times, Huk was long distance mining the 5:30 expansion with a zerg force nearby that could have wiped out all of his probes. Then, he had a spire up and TONS of gas, and Huk's mining expansions had no air protection... why not mix in some mutas or more brood lords or some voidrays to counter the immortals? The all ultra/roach/ling army got owned, and Revival let himself get down to 2 working bases, thus the instant gg when the hatch was killed.

Not that Huk played poorly, but both sides were somewhat sloppy today. I thought Huk seemed a lot more nervous than his Ro32 games.
