On what server will they play the playoff?

I guess they will alternate server between EU and US since TL open were on both server? If not i see latency playing too big a part in this considering Select's TvT style is really micro heavy. ( Need someone like STC to stop him basically under latency)

Btw I'm pretty sure qualifying for TSL3 has been quite a bit harder than qualifying for GSL ever was.

duh. Its hard to play bo1's and not lose to some stupid cheese/all in for most of the tournament and then going into bo3's and all that. Its alot harder for sure.

The level of competition is much higher in GSL prelims

overrating gsl. put the top 10 of europe into gsl and you would be surprised about the gsl results - the whole sc2-world would be.

Many of those top foreigner players have been trying to qualify for months for code S, there's only one there.

I think you'd be surprised at how hard it must be to qualify for the GSL, it was like a 3000 player qualifier for like.. Code B lol.

Ok who are you talking about? Haypro, Jinro, Ret, Incontrol and all the no-names actually didn't win anything in Europe/US before they went to Korea. The only real "top" player who went to Korea was Huk (and maybe Kiwikaki) and he (they) only tried once (with jet lag).

The main reason for this is not sheer skill, but rather lack of consistency, the fact that so many unknown players qualified for TSL3 shows how inconsistent top US/EU players are.

Considering each TSL3 qualifier had more than 1000 participants, I think that the final results do show some great consistency from the top players. Only two of the eight players who qualified by points are people that are fairly unknown (Zeerax and Ciara), and Cruncher was the only winner that I hadn't heard of.

TSL3 has a qualifying process so much more strenuous than the GSL just due to how many people are trying to qualify. There were 8 separate tournaments, each with a massive bracket, and no possible way to practice for any matchup past the first round. All 16 players that get into TSL3 through points have 100% earned their place.

Edit: Posted in the wrong topic somehow o_O

That said, I'm really curious how they're going to do this playoff between Select and Strelok. It'd be great if it were casted :O
