Good points Zlasher. I also think it had a lot to do with the delays of the SC final (like almost 2 hours?) Like someone pointed out, the viewers peaked during the time slot it should have been on. It also didn't help that it got too late for some of the people watching it and they went to sleep because of the delay.

HuK hasn't put up any significant results as of late and was never dominating that many tournaments to begin with. White-ra has been extremely consistent and constantly in the top 4 of major tournaments. Players like Naniwas, Mana, and Kiwi have all shown better results than HuK As for Select, idk, Sjow just knocked him out of another tournament, and again, Select hasn't put up major results as of late. I'd even put Kas above Select at this point
Maybe I was wrong about Select, but definitely not about HuK. He is dominating top koreans in ladder, such as ImNestea and JunwiPrime in quite one sided games (at least the ones I saw in gosugamers.net: http://www.gosugamers.net/starcraft2/replays/41835, http://www.gosugamers.net/starcraft2/replays/41836) and his ladder stats are really impressive. I'm talking about the best foreigner Protoss player, not the most accomplished protoss foreigner player. And I think we will see HuK in action pretty soon. Also, if he went back to NA, I think he would take a lot more tournaments than WhiteRa did in these last months, over the same period of time.

And White-ra has been dominating the Euro ladder etc etc same with other protoss. Most of the foriegnors we see go over to Korea do just fine on the ladder but then have little sucess when it comes to tournaments. Ladder is a very hard and not a good way to measure skill. At this point, accomplishments> random ladder strats

I think the point he was making was that other than Dreamhack, Huk has not joined/been in any tournaments since he is in Korea practicing. He has also improved tremendously since he went overthere, so to say that he hasn't accomplished anything in a tournament lately is true, but has little implication on his skill as of late.

Not sure how you'd be able to make an assessment like that without looking at tourny results, but I dont really care either; they're both freaking awesome players.

full replays pack : ftp://ftp.jeux-strategie.com/StarCraft2/replays/IEM-Kiev-2011.zip
But there are 4 matchs from the group stage missing, cos the replays are not on the ESL sorry !
The games missing from the pack are :
playday 2 : sarens vs goody 0:2 playday 2 : naama vs tarson 1:2 playday 3 : kas vs merz 2;0 playday 4 : goody vs cloud 2:1
So 10 replays are missing from the event.

Was trying to gather the few missing replays today but the PCs were wiped clean already so I fear some of the replays are lost. Most matches should have all replays uploaded though.

It was Cyrus "Prozac" Malekani who said that. He was actually at my place before Quakecon training for it.

It doesnt really matter tho, when he finally gets a chance to play another tournament (GSL Code A, MLG etc) you will see how good he is, until then its fair enough if you want to put someone else as the best protoss.

Huk, DuckloadRa, Socke and recently Naniwa and Mana are top out of Korea for me tbh. Who is best from best? I think every week its diffrent but recently 8,200$ in pocket of DuckloadRa made him nr.1 with no doubt. HuK is very strong agreed, its just shame he cant deliver when time is right.
