Meaning it is already guaranteed that EG + Root is guaranteed first and second place. The game between Prime and and Root will have no outcome on the results, Prime is last, and Root can still take first place with that game.
EG vs Root however will decide a winner of this tournament, So let's hope for some epic Drewbie vs Machine and Idra vs Kiwikaki matches! I'm excited to see who will win this. I really like these clan leagues going on ^^
Two teams qualify for a final so EG vs Root does not decide the winner of the tournament. As far as I know we can still qualify if Root loses the next two matches and ends up having a worse overall score.
i have no beef with Crota, i just don't like how he says "and now" every 7 seconds when transitioning to something new he noticed... if he were to fix that i'd for sure enjoy his casts

Sorry about the "and nows." I'm working on that and the "we do have" " we do see"
I was under the impression that ties would be determined by total games won/lost.. we did have a good shot with that. Did something change in the rules or do I misremember?
Hi Victor,
Total games won lost shows that the 4-1 record that Root had vs TL really tipped things in their favor. With me giving Root a 4-3 win over Prime as a result of the deafult wins, Root just barely edges out over TL with the tie breakers.
The policy for their tiebreakers is not about wins/losses (as I thought) but it's about losses so even if Root loses 1-4 it's the same amount of losses. This information was supplied in advance.
(12 vs our 13, whereas they would have 9 wins and we'd have 12)
@ what nazgul said... from a spectators view this whole tournament has been blindly waiting to see which clan war would be posted next... there was little to no information given out throughout the entire event
I would like to hear both sides of the story but at the moment - going on what Nazgul has said, that sounds pretty strange.. I doubt anything was done maliciously or anything like that but it seems like it came down to severely poor organisation mixed with "rules made on the fly"..
I hope this can be cleared up/remedied in the future without much flaming between teams

Agreed. If it wasnt for some great posts by "ptbl" i probably wouldn't know what the hell was going on during this tournament.
is there anywhere mentioned what tiebreakers are being used? And I don't quite understand why crota even mentions tiebreakers when he gave Root a freewin, with that freewin Root would be 3-1 and TL 2-2 overall. Or does he just take a look at total games won (which would be 12 for both) and ignores the results of individual clanwars? Tiebreak format would only be interesting if Root didn't get a freewin and lost vs Prime, putting TL and Root both on 2-2.

They would be ahead, not because they beat TL but because they have less losses. Which is still a bad way to decide the tiebreaker, but hey, it's Crota's tournament I guess.
I do want to say that I still find it ridiculous not to penalize people for not finishing up. If we copy this policy to the gosucoaching tournament where we are 9-1 we could just win a few more matches and then sit out and not show up for anything else because we'll make top 4 guaranteed. And I guarantee we will be DQ'd for that.
I have tried to keep track of this tournament, thanks to the excellent posts by ptbl I have somewhat managed, but still I am somewhat confused.
With that said, it is quite possible I might be wrong here, if so I apologize, but I thought Prime decided to pull out from the tournament after losing to Mouz, TeamLiquid and EG. Leaving them with no chance to advance. Which means ROOT cant by any means be blamed for their opponent forfeit. Or is there another reason for the talk about penalty/DQ that I have missed?
Sorry to see such a great tournament potential turn into kind of a mess. Hope it doesnt mean the end of MRI though, would really look forward to a follow up. Maybe with some better structure and clearer rules and schedule.
Thanks to everyone involved though, I have been entertained

I didn't know how to penalize Root for not playing against Prime because Prime stated that they couldn't play any more games. I know there was some scheduling issues with Root previously but by Prime saying they couldn't play, I don't know how I could punish Root for not playing in games that Prime would choose not to play. I don't like how the finals were decided by a loop hole personally and I will make sure to rewrite my rules if I ever host another tournament.
