But Sc1 is a lot more figured and polished than sc2, you can't win with 8 marines.

just curious if im in the minority. ive watched every match of every GSL but man its becoming a huge time sink (i dont even have time to play much during GSL. and im wondering if i might have to follow one of the smaller tourneys instead. even though i prefer this.

Basically it's going to end up with the much better player vs the worse player, leading into early 2-0 2-0 and only 4 games. I greatly prefer the winner - loser - final match format, where we see every game every single time. This format makes this pretty much a free ticket for MVP to advance. He should at least have some challenge playing against Zenio.
the problem is that the MSL is already using this format so GOM wont do it the same way

Is it over if MVP beats Jookto and Zenio beats FD?

You have to win at least TWO games to advance
It's just against different players
It still rewards the top two from each group to advance. Yeah, just watch how it worked out at Dreamhack... Upset-fest deluxe with the group system, and people like Actionjezus advanced BO1 doesn't belong in this game imo Upsets make the competitive scene much more interesting. If your favorite top players are really that damn good, they should be able to roll-over these so-called "cheesing/all-in newbs".
