Also just having one single elimination bracket makes it kind of unappealing for some players, s ome players will have a 2 game tournament and be done, kinda rough format for a lan.But I can def advertise for this lan via word of mouth since we'll have a big one in the exact same place one week before. Hey Rob. Pretty much what I was thinking. I am very interesting in this event and the one the week before on the 8th. I live in Pittsburgh and it seems to be a solid 4 hour drive. I am hesitant to come as its only single elim and if I get matched in the first round against someone like LuckyFool :p, I'd be pretty pissed ahahah. Is there anyway we can bump it to double elim? I know that might take all day but hmm, not sure. Thanks for any information. Anyone from the PGH area thinking of going? EDIT: Wow are you guys considering a round robin? How would that work? 30 people all play each other once and the person with the best record wins? I would be down to come if I was guaranteed to play 30 games in person. That sounds like insane fun. P.S. What up StorrZerg?
Yeahhhhh Nizzy come on the 8th! thread is in the TL community section. We doing a round robin for that one, and top 3 from each group make it to bracket stage so everyone is guaranteed at least 6-7 games depending on how big ur group is! ^_^
plus u'd get to meet many amazing players, my dc lans always have top talent like gretorp, avilo, *cough* me *cough* sin, and usually another couple top 200 north america players as well as 40-45 other mostly diamond players.

Are you the Zerg that won the last sc2gg tourney that's like... really good?

@the people who are running the other tournament Thanks for being so supportive! ^__^ I'm looking forward to networking with you guys, and I may get to drop by on your tournament day along with some other HC members. I have a question for you all. Do you livecast your tournament? If so, how does that whole thing work?
I think we are highly considering a new format (as Zyori said, a RR into a single elim), and I don't think we're 100% opposed to a tournament bigger than 32, but we just wanted to make sure we were going to have enough people/time to prepare/resources. Thanks for all the support and bumps! Much love to the TL community.

What I usually do is just get an entry for the TL Calendar and contact a TL streamer that I know does good live casting and casts the event remotely. I'm in talks with people about getting a more formal/better streaming deal put together but it's slow moving.

Wish you would've posted this several weeks ago. I cannot get off work with such short notice. :/

I have updated the OP with all of the new bracketing information. As the post describes, we will be starting with a round robin style format, where the group winners will be moved on to a single elimination bracket. The size will still be capped at 32 players, as this is our first event and we want to be sure we can manage all of our tourney participants appropriately.

SO! If anybody would like to practice hit me up online, Anfield.723 :3.

Hey I know this thread is a bit back but I am actually going to MAGfest nearby in DC that weekend. My friends are dragging me along but since this is only like 15 mins away I would be down to come and play. Once I find out their schedules I will go ahead and register since things don't look like they are full.
Thanks to Storrzerg's quote, otherwise I wouldn't have found this. Well also playing him vs ladder too I guess haha.
My friends will probably be ok with it, so I'm looking forward to it!
