yeah i tend to agree, however if they do change it they need to do some more reworking (the promised stim/banshee changes for example)
it was crazy to see how mc pulled back being down so much in supply, even if lots of it was probes
also, it is kinda acclimatic to have spectators and commentators go wild about good emp that catches all the templars when 5 seconds later his army gets stormed to death by fresh temps anyways

I like how people think the P, OP talk is "coming out of the woodwork" when its been in the strategy forum for quite a while. Help TvP is the most common (not including sub diamond play) thread on the strategy forum easily without even taking into account the QQ threads. Its nearly as prevalent as the T is OP threads from zerg users pre-roach buff/reaper nerf.
The 8gateway really showed how its ridiculous that terran can't build a rax before a supply depot though.

Wow, if game two is any indication of the future of this game... it is going to be fucking great.
W00t for MC win!

Better bunker placement and NOT going for that techlab + marauder would've been fine for Rain. That techlab stopped his production for too long, and the marauder didn't contribute any more than the 3 marines its worth. And the fact that he had to get a refinery! And take 3 SCV's off of minerals to get gas!

Awesome finals. Games 1, 2 & 3 just sick. Game 2 best PvT I ever seen. Just sick constant harass while being on the ropes throwing off Rain gameplan. MC just does not make many mistakes compared to other pros like 1 or 2 in a whole series so I think he's the best. + great micro and micro.
Anyone know if MC streams? I'd pay for that.
|
Game 2 shows how good SC2 can be if marauders aren't so good.
We will rarely see those games because marauders >> tank + bio
|
I like how in their promo pic it looks like Rain is clutching MC's arm

And still almost losing? Really, MC lost that game because he got overeager with his colossus push. Definitely should have waited. MC is just miles ahead of Rain, that series was very lopsided. Game 2 was extremely entertaining, still. SIGH. I swear, some people must watch these tournaments just to have something to hate on. I wonder why this overly negative attitude is so prevalent for SC2 tournaments and not for most sports and competitions in general. After a competitive Super Bowl game, most people tend to be pretty happy, they saw some good action and a few exciting plays, and even if the scores weren't close later in the game, they appreciated the competition. I think of some SC2 fans watched it, all they would talk about it how much it sucked, how Team 2 never should have gotten so far, how calling Random Defensive Play cost them the game, and just harp on everything negative they can think of. To everyone hating on Rain... I'll consider your opinion valid when you reach the GSL finals. In games 1 and 2, Rain brought some extremely strong offense that would have crushed every single Protoss player on these forums. MC's exceptional skill was able to show, as he managed to survive it. In game 3 Rain thoroughly outplayed MC and defeated him with mindgames. MC is so damn good he almost stopped it, which made it more exciting than it could have been. It fell apart for Rain after that, but you can't deny that he had three very strong games and brought a serious challenge to the heavily favored best protoss player in the world. I just wish that fewer people would find that "being a hater" is fun for them, and instead would try out "being a Starcraft fan".
Sorry, but as you are not a GSL finalist, your opinion is invalid.

Everytime I watch the Finals I thoroughly enjoy it but then I see these forums bombarded with people whinning about it.

If Rain's offense was even decent on game 2 he would've won. MC made a Dark Shrine, Robo, and Stargate before he even expanded while Rain was trying to go for early aggression.

LOL. well played =)
Rain was pretty bad guys. Terran is NOT UP and Protoss is NOT OP. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that Terran is OP.. if someone like Rain can make it that far when he obviously has such poor micro/macro skill =/

I'm a GSL finalist you may know me by my alternate ID IMNesTea. All I have to say after watching the event is that P is overpowered. Peace!
|
so does this mean jinro is 3rd place
|
Rain did better than jinro guys, give him some respect. Beat nestea, genius and hongun, hes a legit top player.
|
TSL rain was dominated and played poorly his base decision making was horrid at points. This wasn't even a close series.
|
The better player on the day won.
That said, I wish the hate and advice column on Rain would abate. Everyone has their own reasons and is a general after the battle, but he gave us a solid final overall and seems a decent dude.
I hope he doesn't let people dissuade him from playing the way he wants to. I know he said he wouldn't in his interview but what one says and what they do can be very different. I wouldn't call myself a Rain fan at all but he deserves better.
Congratulations to MC, keep going and show us Toss those other builds you have under wraps

It sad that some of you clowns diss Rain. You know who you are. Rain would beat anyone of you with just one hand.
Great finals - Congrats to MC. Storm is Overpowered and Blizzard needs to do something about it.

Yeah, maybe you're right NesTea. Considering how badly Iron was in bw, http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/korean/players/640_IrOn, it seems quite unusual that he could be so good at P in sc2. Therefore P must be imba.

I wish people would stop thinking that everyone who is hating on Rain is hating on him for his style/all-ins. Because that's not it.
In fact, if he'd managed to actually execute a proper all-in, then he would have gained a fair few fans (myself included).
No, the reason everyone is hating on Rain is because he didn't give us a good show. He didn't all-in as well as he has in the past. He panicked.
Everyone's hating on Rain for giving them an extremely boring, lopsided GSL finals.

Yes, we're pretty sure Rain could probably pwn most of us at sc2. In fact, I'm pretty sure any of the GSL qualifiers are much better than most of us. However, it doesn't mean they are so much better that we can't criticize their play. Rain played pretty terribly in his games if you happened to watch them. Even in his game where he won, he made many bad decisions that almost let MC come back. Plus the way he beat some players previously were filled with too many cheeses, and although good players use cheese some of the time, they don't deserve to win by playing them continually.
