Jinro awesome! So glad I didn't sleep last night to watch!

... But anyone else REALLY scared for him to face MC? He looked crazy good last night, especially that third game with 4-gate (iirc) into high templar, blink stalkers, and eventually collosus? I think that was my fave game of both series, but man I'd be scared if I was Jinro. Especially after how close the series vs. Choya was, MC looks so much better than Choya.

That's what happens when eveyr T practices his TvZ and every Z practices his ZvT.

So happy for both Jinro and MC to go through. Excited whichever one goes to the finals. More excited for jinro ofc because he's one of our own and also because it'd be nice to see a tvp in the finals.

Why didn't Jinro's opponent ever get HT? He definitely had the time for them, but he never got them.

Pressure into macro continuation feels more impressive. It looks like a player in control of the situation and has read the flow of the game to a deeper degree. You mean like game 5 where Rain was working on his third behind all that aggression?

At least we can fanboy together for Jinro.

TvZ pressure plays, for whatever reason, tend to be more vilified here than the same in PvT. Also Teamliquid is home to a huge base of oGs-TL fans.

Probably because Protoss is the least represented race in the GSL while TvZ is the dominant matchup, and we've had these TvZ "pressure plays" almost every single TvZ match (sometimes every game of some matches). Or it might be because MC has shown he is a lategame macro champion while Rain runs out of steam fairly quickly and starts falling apart at the midgame. Or it could be because MC's early strats are a bit more creative while Rain employs the same SCV all-in 3 times in one match.

Or.. nah, it's fanboyism.

Proxy gate and void ray rush are creative? And sure, Protoss may be rare and Terran pressure may be common, but that is not a good reason to hate all over Rain.

MC didn't go allin in every game, and played a good macro game. He showed that he has skill and can win a game that goes passed the 10 min mark. So, im sorry but you clearly can't tell the difference between skill and abuse.

This is exactly what I mean. Proxy warpgate, void ray rush, proxy pylons warping units across gaps, these are skill whereas marine rushes with lots of micro are abuse.

EDIT:

Ah, I did not consider the oGs factor as far as this site is concerned. Though, I wonder if MC will be issuing any apologies in Korea.
And isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean, all you get is one trick: rational thinking; but, when you're good and crazy, ooohoohoohoohoooo, the sky is the limit!

Yep, all those reasons probably contributed to why people are more appreciative of MC's quarterfinals play compared to Rain's. I probably should've left it at "whatever reason" or actually provided possible reasons like you did, because I wasn't trying to imply (see the "also") that only fandom created this difference in appreciation. I just wanted to point out that MC is as much representative of the home team here as Jinro is, but in retrospect that's a silly thought that really isn't as helpful as dissecting the issue straight-up.

This series should have gone 3-0 or 3-1 had jinro kept his composure. In one he lost track of his vikings and the other he refused to retreat to his ramp. Perhaps leaving the base through the ramp later on with collosi waiting outside is too costly?

he has a legit chance against MC if he plays like did the first two games. Even though I wanna see MC win the whole thing for Protoss.. can't go against another white guy. xD

OMG TvT and PvP SEMI, meaning...

TvP FINALS!!! (ok this is not what i'm hyped about though)

OMG JINRO WON AGAIN YES!!! GO JINRO GOGO

Edit:

Oh wait, it's a TvP and a TvP. Well I guess, TWO PvT SEMIFINALS YAY, and may be another PvT in the finals :D refreshing to see this ZvT is boring to see with all the same 14 hatch and 2 rax pressure in so many games.

I've always loved Jinro, but he endeared himself even moreso with the interview. Dude just seems SOOO humble and nice- even saying he doesn't feel good about his chances against MC (c'mon, he knows he's got as good a shot at winning as his teammate, MC)

Being that I am a Swede, I tried my hand at photoshop to honor our hero and celebrate his latest win. This may be offensive to koreans, and it is horribly made, but I believe it has comical value. Using this as my facebook pic until Jinro wins.

Well, seeing as how those are 2 different cheese/all-in strategies, while Rain thus far has employed only 1 cheese/all-in strategy, yes, I'd say MC's a bit more creative than Rain. And that's probably why I didn't state those as reasons to hate Rain, but rather as reasons to defend MC but not Rain, thus deflating your silly accusations of fanboy bias.
