It's kinda funny that Naama could have been eliminated by a coinflip in the group stages. DH really needs to figure out another way to run the early stages of the tournament. When it got to the bo3s it was a great tournament though.

Coinflip? What?

There was a 3 way tie in Socke/Naama/Bischu's group.

I kinda agree - I enjoy macro games so much more than the standard sub-12 minute GSL games.

There is no doubt that GSL ro32 is higher player quality than that DH finals, but in terms of entertainment? It doesnt even come close to DH.

Passionate crowd, good commentators, proper theater and bigscreen, 2 unconventional players - only thing missing was the booths.

In my eyes this was THE best SC2 Tournament so far. Great work from all the casters and great games from all the players.

Hope they make another great tournament for DHS

Great finals, so much drama! During match 2 and 3 I was just waiting for apollo to say that day9 just fainted.

i think one thing to see is that

B05 GrandFinal gives more chance for epic games. Regardless of which way is fairer, the MLG double elim extended series puts the winner bracket final way ahead ( and probably deservedly so) and it made for some very anti climatic and short finals.

I have to agree, the final rounds of double elim are often pretty awkward and anticlimactic. You often have the same players meeting each other again and the grand final is lopsided and often very short. The epicness of single elim finals is unmatched.

i think u summed it up pretty much. GSL has like 50 ppl (edit: not counting the final obviously) in the studio, its more of a TV event. this is a stadium event with (not sure) possibly ~1000+ people watching SC2. its a festival. the atmosphere is different.

No, It was a three way tie, so they played again, but they drawed the rematches, so then they decided to flip a coin.

That makes slightly more sense but still, should just keep playing until someone wins.
