I am so cheering for GuMiho. If he actually wins GSL3, he'd be the undisputed best all-around SC2 player in the world.

It's too bad Torch didn't qualify again. I was hoping for him to pull some sort of a Nestea (poor first showing, then dominating).

They require more minerals you to stick with one faction for the entire tournament.

Random counts as a race - thus, Gumiho won't be able to specifically pick a faction to counter a certain opponent. He'll have to play as full Random all the way.

...So intense.

Poor artosis. Guess he'd better stick with what he's awesome at for now, the casting. ^^

Gold/plat NA and you actually won games in the gsl qualifier. Baller sir.

You sir, are a baller. Gold/plat on NA server and 2-0'ing a Korean. Like a BAWS.

Haha, cheers. Yeah, I was fully expecting to get rolled as soon as I played. But, hey, how often am I going to be in Korea during open $100k tournies? It was like watching the World Cup here instead of back home, I mean, when in Rome...

I played Toss. The player I beat was a Terran, and attempted to push Banshees both times. The first time he sort of MMM-balled and then techswitched, but not fast enough while I took out the FE and then his mineral line. The second time he must have gone almost straight after them, they didn't yet have cloak and died to some stalkers while harassing my minerals, while the rest of my army pushed into his non-walled base on a near-spawn Metalopolis.

The player I lost to was also Terran, who MMM-balled the first game and marine/marauder rushed the second. I was hoping Artosis would avenge me but it doesn't appear that he did.

I was also logged in, for some reason, as EGIdra, which was fun. Where most others had Korean names which were basically "TournamentIDXX", mine was Idra. It was nice that they had an English client on the computer, too, for me.

Since there's nothing more awesome than playing random. And since it's an unavoidable fad nowadays to rep your race with nerdy t-shirts showing the emblem... I wonder if there are also t-shirts with dice on it, so i can rep the true fourth race of sc2, "random". Does this stuff exist?

I guess it could be possible to perform some really sinister forms of cheese if you go random. Some form of rush with each race that depending on your race would need a different response from your opponent. Also it would need to be too late to adapt to the rush once he scouts it.

Even more interesting, Interview in the foreigner's mom.

If that were the case, then there would be many more Random players in the tournament.

Are there any more qualifiers for GSL in 2011 or is this the last GSL qualifiers? I think if incontrol and kiwikaki had about a week longer of structured practice in Korea, they would have made it into the ro64 instead of getting knocked out of the tournament in the last round.

How close was incontrol to qualifying?

Both him and Kiwi were one match away I think. Both of them got put up against some really skilled koreans. Bad luck but it happens with this kind of tournament

FUUUUUUUU-

Was really rooting for Kiwi and Inc in particular

i have a question

cause this is the last "open" tournament what happens to all the players not reach A or S class ?

cant they play in any more gsl's ??

so no chance for incontrol kiwikai etc to qualify anytime again =

Jinro obviously lives in the WMF house to know that. He asumes that because they are playing the GSL qualifiers and because WC3 is dying that they practice SC2 more than WC3. I follow WC3. Moon has said countless of times that he practices WC3 more than he does SC2. He only practices SC2 when a SC2 event comes up which in this case is only GSL.

Usually I practice WC3 the most and when there is a SC2 event, I practice SC2 as well.

Quote from Moon.

Yes, and Im just not sure if I believe it.

Im not saying I know for sure or anything, especially now that his ladder account has slowed down a bit, but it would just make sense to me.

MOON is in sc2 now!??!? and is good enough to qualify for GSL season 3 which is probably the hardest of them O.M.G.

What's impressive is that he (as well as Lyn) probably only practice 2 or 3 hours a day of starcraft which is like a quarter of a normal progamer's practice time.

True RTS talent.

I would guess its the other way around - they only practice WC3 2-3 hours a day as that game is basically solved and the competition isnt anywhere near what it was, so I would think someone like Lyn or Moon only needs a few hours a day to keep up at the top level.

Nope. They both still practice WC3 more than they do SC2. Moon even said it in one of his latest interviews.

How can you know better than Jinro, who is in S. Korea nowadays, if you are from USA and only reading forums? U got some evidence of that??

I have no evidence to base this on and hadnt even read that interview (I randomly found it a few minutes after posting actually, unrelated to this thread) before it, its just what makes sense to me.

There are qualifiers, but they are for Code A as Ive understood it. Code A tournament is also televised, the top battle bottom of Code S for S class status.
