What the hell does fucking S class even mean? I know it's for qualification and seeding and stuff next year but what's the difference between Code A and Code S? Seems like no one knows, lol.

As far as I understand Code S is like "best amongst the A Codes" and it will transfer to beeing seeded into the GOMTV league next year, while rest of the ppl (Code A) will either qualify for rest of the spots or will be randomly distributed over the remaining league spots.

You can find the D, C, B, A, S grading scale in the Lineage 2 game and I guess it is related.

Would be so, so awesome to have a Protoss winner in Season 3... please please make it so!

If that can't be, I will settle for any foreigner

I really hope we don't see some of the players who stumbled into the round of 64 last time around. I really want the foreigners to succeed this time around. Liquid` and EG Hwaiting! But the best thing ever would be if Incontrol won for Auir!

I really hope this time we will have less streaming problems and better quality in East Europe, and ofcourse more Tosses.

It would be great that they lower previous ticket holders prices to 10$ for people who already bougt S1 and S2 ticket, and they stick to that price from now on, as it seems most fair price for loyal customers that supported both their previous events.

I don't understand how can you seriously consider a Protoss winning GSL. Nothing really changed since GSL Season 2 - there was no patch and nobody invented anything that would help PvT early game afaik. The number of "good" Terrans is steadily rising, so it will be even harder for a Protoss to break through.

There's two different tournaments. 32 player S-class tournament and a 64 player A-class tournament. The S-class tournament will presumably be a lot more prestigious and have more prize money, which is why everyone is making such a big deal about getting the S-class status.

I really hope Tester can win and not choke, he's the only player who's ever made me smile consistently in SC2.

So basically I'm on a holiday for this week and there is GSL prelims. I'm 1 lucky bastard ha :D ? Anyway, can we internationals watch prelims from anywhere?

EDIT: I'm rooting for ret and hayder specifically, other than that another zerg winner or a protoss who doesn't 1baseallin will settle for me :D

There are two problems with these qualifiers:
1) No streams... only live updated brackets and TL twitter
2) Wth scrap station is the deciding map

1hour and 15mins until the 15th in korea.
I have no idea when the qualifiers start though, maybe in 11hours? (10am their time)

Monday, Nov 15 1:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) ? (date-tag)

EDIT: Seems like they start at 11 their time if previous qualifiers are any indication.
so Monday, Nov 15 2:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) (date-tag)

1) FU GOM WHY NO STREAMS.
2) Scrap station is just another stupid map of blizzard. But it's still better than LT or DQ (which means Disqualify for all Zerg players).

Idra already Class S ?

Depends how they rate it, which GSL hasn't really specified. Presumptially it's top 8 from GSL1/2/3, then the top placed players afterwards, combination of # of GSLs qualified and ranking. If this is the case, he is not guaranteed S-Class right now, but would be among the prime candidates for the remaining 32-8*3=8 spots, as he made it to ro32, ro16 and not many of the other qualifiers have had repeat success like him. As such, he should be in S-Class, unless suddenly like 8 people who made ro32, also make ro16/ro8.

When does S-class kick in, next year?

Yup, GSL1/2/3 right now is basically pre-GSL to find all 'seeded' players the tournaments starting next year. Next year GSL isn't gonna be like how it is now with consecutive open tournaments. They'll have a mix of some seeded A-Class, S-Class tournaments, along with chances to move from Korean Ladder <-> A-Class <-> S-Class.
