Its safe to say protoss is overated now. GSL Season 1: 27 protoss qualify, 3 quarterfinalists, 0 semifinalists GSL Season 2: 20 protoss qualify, 1 quarterfinalists, 0 semifinalists GSL Season 3: 12 protoss qualify...0 quarterfinalists?
To those blaming the map pool, you cant blame GSL for using the official maps. If theres a problem with the maps its blizzards job to either remove them or fix protoss so they can compete on them.

Anyway, it's pretty clear Protoss is the weakest race and anyone who doesn't think so is simply blind. All of this "protoss aren't doing the right strategy blah blah" is hilarious. Can't wait for patches.
I wouldn´t use the word stomped as it doesn´t apply here.

A lot ov ZvZ this season. We can now see how the pros play this. Sadly that is bad news for Idra asaik.

No but it's safe to say that there are a lot of scrubs who think that a player is only good if they got to the finals of the most recent season.

"Protoss is the weakest race". Come on, this is not your average mmorpg here. Sc2 is still very new. You can't make such assumptions.
Every time I heard his name come up the phrase "best protoss in the world" is lurking somewhere in the sentence. If you say he is one of the top then yea I can live with that. However, best in the world? Failing to qualify twice? Now that is overrated. After Artosis and Idra hyped him up certainly his reputation exceeded his skills in the foreign community I guess Idra did that because he got beaten by Tester.

I believe the hype was during beta and immediately post launch. There was little to no news of Korean players at the time with the only really known good players were tester, cool and rainbow.

Lets hope the percentage is going to grow from round to round. It would make watching GSL much more fun. A pity Incontrol and Huk couldn't win their final matches. Would be two more protoss, two less Zerg.. and an awesome array of foreign players in this tournament. 1 less Zerg and 1 less Terran (HuK lost to Aya). Outside of that, I think it's interesting to see the consistent players out there, most of them aren't that flashy it seems; Idra, Check and ITR for example.

Ty tyrless, you're spot on 'bout that imo.

You are right he may not be the best protoss in the world, and people saying that kind of statements might exaggerate a bit. However we cannot deny the fact that Tester showed some INSANE decision making as well as top level micro. Personally when thinking about Tester I don't refer to the beta era because a lot of things have changed. But in my opinion he is definitely one of the best protosses.

Before trying to use some sarcasm learn some reading comprehension. Overrated = not as good as people believe which is very different from not being good.

Yeah and there are people who think Idra is overrated.
Look - Nada failed to qualify for GSL3, therefore he is overrated player, right? No.

Dang what a bummer about the lack of protoss players. While it sucks that huk and incontrol didn't make it... it's just weird that tester and inca are out.
|
seriously, these numbers are ridiculous the only hope of a protoss making it NEAR the finals is Genius. Also people saying tester is over rated...Seriously? Do you not remember GOM S1 he played so well what he was doing didnt even seem possible. I can't believe the amount of zerg players saying toss is fine right now.

What about tasteless? Did he qualify or not? I'm unable to find an answer

Jinro îs on a roll! But no Huk or SeleCt? Aww.. Sadface..

Look at the increase in performance by NesTea from season 1 and season 2. I don't see why a Protoss player couldn't pull off a similar feat.

I really want to know what happened with him, was he even really trying out?

I can't wait for all the TvZ match up. Let's hope we don't see anymore allin build from Terran.
