The stream was great and all but the whole format seems not go to well with the idea of livestreaming it?

Soooo many interesting games weren't/couldn't be shown because there were just too many games going on at the same time, even in the later stages half the results were just "there" (oh, Player XYZ is out or XXX is playing vs ZZZ... Why is that not streamed?...).

Why not have some online preliminaries and then a group stage at the live event? I mean this event goes over 3 days.. Why not have a (big) group stage at day 1 and after that go into a "smaller" grid were after the 1/8 final every series can be cast?

Because the live tournament environment is so cool for everybody--spectators AND players.
To be honest, they casted a TON of games--more than most tournaments. I don't know of very many tournaments where every series is cast. I was actually very pleased with the amount that they did.

The GSL also doesn't have over 500 games played in 3 days.

My MLG Dallas folder sits at 501 files, and there are a ton of missing replays (I'm about to make a huge list).

MLG isn't as big as GSL. What you gonna do...
Q. You've been criticized for using cheesy builds in the past, but now people are saying that you've played some good games today. A. I'm glad that they think that way, but that won't stop me from using cheesy builds.(oGsHyperdub)

I wish sweden, germany or some other big european nation would play a nation war vs USA. I have a feeling a lineup like MorroW, Sjow, Madfrog, HayprO & Jinro would surprise a lot of americans.

The amount of casted games was fine.
It just, for th elongest time, didn't feel like a tournament to me due to not being able to follow many of the players in the later stages... Thats why i like Tournaments with Group-Stages and a pretty small Grid afterwards better.

Well it wouldn't surprise me.

Jinro obviously just proved he was a beast by winning the tournament.

Yeah that's usually how nation wars work...

I just expect most people on TL would be betting on a US victory vs european nations.

I think a group stage would be cool, actually, just to get rid of all the no-names that made up the bottom 64 of the 128 players. I think group stages are generally more fair to good players, actually. The only problem is that I still see that taking a while, and while ideally that would leave more time for every bracketed match to be cast after that, I think group stages would actually take MORE time than the double-elimination format they already use.

I read somewhere else a suggestion that they use a second casting team, and then spectators can pick/choose which stream to watch for the games they're interested in. I don't know how viable that is on MLG's end, having to supply yet another stream for their events, but that would easily double the number of late games worth watching.

Yes, I just spent four hours going through and checking every single replay against the bracket. Over 500 games.

The extremely important ones are underlined (no offense to anyone).

Missing Games:

Grand Finals: All missing.

WBR2: Agh_Antec vs NrG.AhhBoxxah (aka sixjaxHihai) (Games 2 and 3) is missing.
WBR2: SC2Attero (aka VTAttero) vs limniscate (aka Incursion) is missing.

WBR3: wonkman vs NeOReSpOnSe (Game 3) is missing.
WBR3: TylerRosen75 (aka Flux) vs SLush450 (aka ROOTslush) is missing.

WBR4: qxc (aka ROOTqxc) vs FnaticSen (aka Softball) is missing.

LBR4: AdamRosen75 (aka ReAson) vs mOnion (Games 2 and 3) is missing.

LBR5: EGNyoken (aka Mug) vs Jaeger is missing.
LBR5: ryanrushia (aka Ryan) vs iNkAsc2 has incorrect results. ryanrushia lost 1-2 to iNkA, WINNING on Kulas Ravine, not losing on it. Game 3 on Metalopolis is already uploaded to the MLG servers, it just has no download link.
LBR5: bugerking3 (aka FreeMoney) vs allaboutyou is missing.
LBR5: Debolt vs ZpuX has a "hidden" Game 3 on the MLG servers (l-r3-m14-g3). It is highly, highly likely that the results are incorrect and that Debolt did actually take a game off ZpuX considering that was the case with ryanrushia.

LBR8: EG.LzGaMeR vs KiWiKaKi is missing.

LBR11: LiquidTyler vs LiquidRet Game 3's download link is missing. The actual replay is correctly located on the MLG servers correctly, but the "Replay" link for it is missing from the Match Info page.

LBR13: PainUser vs LiquidTyler "Game 4" (Game 6 of the Extended Series) is missing entirely. It has no download link and is also not on the server.

Notes: When I say "missing", I mean the games are either A) Not there at all, or more likely B) There is an incorrect replay in its place. Additionally, I'm using your (MLG's) bracket numbering on the official bracket page, so remember, it is 'incorrect'. Subtract 2 from Loser's Bracket Rounds and 1 from Winner's Bracket Rounds to get the real numbering.

EDIT: Updated for ryanrushia. Followup PM sent to MLG Lies.

Besides fanboys, who the hell has said that IdrA is going to win the GSL? <snip>

Well, TL isn't really light on the fanboyz, is it..

I'm comfortable in assuming most fanboys on the Team Liquid forums would much rather root for TLO, Huk, Jinro, Ret, etc, over the Graken.

He's a polarizing person, and definitely quotable if you're the type of person that likes to say "in your face" whenever he's off by a mile, but he's definitely not as exciting to watch as the TL guys.

I think you underestimate the fanbase on TL. Sure I root for the liquid players, but I still prefer to see idrA or dimaga playing. Don't be so easy on assuming things. Because I think idrA has a bigger fanbase on the foreigner front than you may think.

This is kind of funny, because Im glad wheter Idra wins or loses. He truly is the true villain in the sc2 scene. Hope he continues to do great in GSL as he is about the only foreigner atm that you can count on there.

MLG_Lies earlier in this thread said to make a list for him to look at on Monday, so hopefully he's reading this thread.

I could PM him I suppose.
