I was so impressed by the quality of the games today, Jinro vs Socke on DO takes the crown for me on that one. Jinro's decisionmaking is soooo good, I'm glad to see Korea has paid off for him, looking forward to seeing him qualify for GSL3!

Very upset about nony losing so i went into a build order tester and did the following test.
6 collosus, 4 carriers, 15 zealots w/charge 15 stalkers
against
10 thors, 15 vikings, 40 marines
(The costs are almost equal, but the terran army is actually cheaper by a little bit)
Result.
Terran wins with 5 thors and 5 vikings remaining
Changed it to

10 thors, 15 vikings, 40 marines
Toss wins with 6 stalkers reamining.
This was with 0 micro, but in the end i'm getting that thors are relatively weak against carriers with 0 micro. In the end of the last battle, the vikings cleaned up the last carriers but lost to the remaining stalkers.
If anyone can find a composition that effectively counters this terran composition please let me know.

ya maybe he would eventually have lossed but does it hurt to play it out? its for elimination u got nothing to lose trying to pull a "miracle" win , which IS possible sine IDra is such a smart solid player Day9 explained it pretty accurately. IdrA made his queen on the outside to help defend, but he couldn't inject in his main. He was going to lose the hatch and queen, losing 450 minerals. He was contained in his base with only lings to take down rocks if he wanted to expand. It was basically TLO vs Kiwi game 2, except IdrA knew he was going to lose and tapped out. Four scvs for T, really isn't all in with all the mules.
Don't forget he couldn't even get his spinecrawler into attacking distance because he had no queen in his base and therefore no creep spread. Felt bad for Idra there, it was either take the chance and spawn his Queen in the natural to defend, or in his base and basically sack the expansion. He decided to create the Queen in his natural (which was the correct decision imho) but the Queen got caught off creep and that was pretty much gg.

I think the key thing you're missing there is high templar.
They make vikings near useless.
