Honest question here since I have no idea about the exact formats but do the BW leagues and tournaments (like OSL or Proleague) allow map vetoing?

Lalush is swedish?

TLO plays in the German Amateur Series and wants to quailfy for the next EPS but even there he wasnt that strong.thats what i meant.

Ok - just please stop the bullshit. TLO lost to ZeRo in EAS twice (ESL Amateur Series, qualifier for ESL Pro Series (EPS)) because first of all ZeRo is also a good player and on the other hand: TLO is fucking 19 wins 2 loss (?) in the EAS... cut the crap, thanks.

Yep that's the worst. Bo1 for round robin is fine if they actually follow through on tie-breakers instead of flipping a coin.

I was wondering about that... saw it on liquipedia page. Did they really make someone lose because of a coin flip? Utterly ridiculous if it truly went down that way.

Yes, they played a three way tiebreaker, but they won one game each, so they randomed one of the out, and so bischu went out on a coinflip (Wich sucks because he's from my town!)

No, it sucks because it throws the entire brackets system under the bus. What if Bischu would have won the entire event? We'll never know now. He could have eliminated the person who'll win now or any other number of things could have happened.

This guy makes it through a massive bo1 tournament(over 500 people), through all the qualifiers(honestly, making him way more qualified to play than anyone invited, imo), and then should technically be advanced.... But he doesn't, because of "Time constraints."

Bullshit. I'll watch dream-hack for cool games between good players. But I'll never think of it as a legitimate professional tournament, and will not ever consider results to be any sort of indication of which player is better.

Especially when those "time constraints" are pretty much bs, how many games have been going on during the last 3-4 hours? Just a handful is the answer, biscuit was crying for games to cast for a while and now sweet fanny adams is going on. It's better to play a tie-breaker without an audience than to flip a damn coin, and it's not like the coin-flipping was broadcasted anyway!

I see coin flips on tv all the time! :D

these are the results i am kinda hoping for in the next round.. not a real prediction or anything..

White-ra vs Adel = White-ra

TOP vs InCa = InCa

MorroW vs lalush = MorroW

Naama vs DF = DF

Fenix vs MadFrog = MadFrog

Tyler vs Jesus = Tyler

MaNa vs ServaNT = ServaNT

Huk vs Socke = Socke
We promise with a view to hope, but the reason to "accomplish" what we promised would be fear.

I have to agree. But it seems like every big tournaments at the moment have huge issues with rules (being completely stupid). MLG : extended series, old maps etc. GSL : No map vetos anymore. DreamHack : Coinflip.

Yes, they should have continued with extra rounds for the elimination of the threeway tie. Noone disagrees.

Yes, the information flow is incredibly poor. (why is noone crying about this? It is hugely upsetting.)

Other than that it's actually the best tournament so far. Great casters, decent stream quality for the first time(it's 2010, it can't be as hard to host a decent stream as GSL makes it look like), and good games (stop whining about unflexible players failing to stop a 6-pool).

Thanks guys.

I don't see disallowing map vetoing as a necessarily bad thing since it should encourage diversity in maps and game play. Problem here is that the maps aren't balanced so perhaps GSL should have waited for some new maps before enforcing it.

I made an account here just to thank you for the overwhelmingly good time you provided today. Really great casting, little different from what we see normally, but maybe that was what made it so fun to watch. I hope to see you casting more SC2 games in the future, and I'm betting I'm not the only one here. This glass of wine is for you, cheers.

Predictions

If you want - join me!

White-rA 1-2 Adel
I hope its the other way around, but I think Adel is 'clever' in PvP.

TOP 1-2 InCa
InCa is really good - TOP also really good, could go either way.

MorroW 1-2 LaLuSh
I think LaLuSh will take it, but I certainly hope for MorroW

Naama 0-2 DarK.ForcE
If there's no LT in this best of 3, I think DarK.ForcE is too strong in ZvT.

Fenix 2-0 MaDFroG
Fenix is not just tricky, but also backs up his play by huge mechanics.

NonY 2-0 Jesus
I think NonY is just more solid and better. He should win.

MaNa 1-2 ServaNT
MaNa is fine in PvT, but I still think ServaNT will do it in a close series.

Huk 2-1 Socke
Both great Protoss and great persons in real life, unfortunately Socke says he lacks PvP and Huk is really strong in PvP besides it being a coinflip - giving this one to huk.

Idk. The games so far have been pretty flat.

Maybe you can eliborate on the matter. Shouldnt MorroW and ServaNt change places in the bracket? ServeNt beat Morrow and should be top of his group.
