We've already had this discussion in the thread, and yes it happened in 1990. Still stupid not to play additional tiebreakers, by the way the EPS Nordic CS semi-final which also took place at DH had a quadruple overtime on the second map. It ended 36-33 in mtws favour over fnatic, (15-15, 5-5, 5-5, 5-5, 6-3)

To be honest Plexa, I think it would be reasonable and totally fine. They are kind of on the same team, why wouldn't they help out each other. Not saying InCa dropped the game, but it would make sense nonetheless.

Well, take for example ActionJesus vs Lucifron. Had it been a BO3 Actionjesus would have won the first, but Lucifron probably wouldn't have fallen for the same thing and could very possibly have advanced.

I don't think the "It's a BO3 but the player changes" argument is valid. The player changing makes all the difference, it changes the whole scenario. You still are determining that one player should advance to the next round over another from one match between them.

Now, this wouldn't be as bad if the pool was bigger, and there were more than four people in each group, as the amount of games played by each player would increase and the likelihood of the better players advancing would increase. Players would also be disinclined to cheese as much, which is I think causing a lot of the complaints.
