i don't understand how you can completely seperate yourself into two entities like that. the 'spectator' who is easily bored by seeing the same units over and over, and the 'player' who appreciates the tremendous display of skill that was select vs nony. i don't understand how ANY competitive player can be bored of a sc2 match simply because he's seen marauders before.

I think his argument is that the games aren't particularly varied and that the unit mixes from Terran have been very similar in every TvP mu today, yet that doesn't prevent good players from appreciating good play. Seems like a reasonable observation right now from a spectator standpoint, the other mu's have been a lot more enjoyable to watch from a casual spectator standpoint.

You really cant see how appreciation and entertaining are two different things? I am not a casual spectator by any means.

Maybe its part of the 1800 diamond club mentality on tl.net but the only arguments i see against seem elitist and seem to assume things about me as part of their argument which are not true, and seem to believe that my opinions is somehow irrelevant because they assume i dont understand how well Select played. You assume that i cant appreciate his micro, you assume i cant appreciate his scouting, and most of all the bridge key of the argument is you assume that because i appreciate these things i have to find it entertaining, well i do appreciate it but i dont find it entertaining, and i cant really argue better than that because whoever counters me is arguing on baseless accusations because of the general culture on here.

Basically, you're saying facts don't matter, only your opinion of what's entertaining. So quite frankly I don't give a shit what your opinion is anymore. You were trying to claim that Select's bio play was not impressive and boring. It is very impressive, and its entertainment value is an intangible based on individual opinion. She was way popular in WoW's 2nd expansion: Burning Crusade. Her team, Fnatic, won MLG twice in a row as the overpowered Warrior/Lock/Druid.

She also still does a lot of coverage for tournaments, Im not sure if she really plays that much anymore.

You sure don't have to tech to two t3 (shrine, robosupport) off 2 base to match t1.5.

Kiwi overteched and it didn't pay off, that's how the game works.

Banshees are rarely used. I don't remember seeing one in any TvP in IEM, or this tournament. MMM and vikings(vs collosus), and ghost(vs high temp), are really the only viable compositions. People who complain about MMM are clueless.

Select reminds me of a Terran Idra. He just does safe, consistent builds with great mechanics.
