Are there any VODs up for the Idra games?
|
WTF was the observer doing? He wasnt even following the action at all? The screen is just sitting at the bottom while they talk about something else.
Wasn't tasteless controlling the obs?
Edit: Ok he finally started controlling it after about 2 minutes..
I like the production overall though. Artosis and Tasteless is a great duo.
I will probably buy the premium package soon.

Day[9] = talks overly abstract about simple things, goes on for thirty minutes about the importance of proper overlord scouting patterns. Makes weird noises.
Husky = well I'm not really sure about this guy but from what I've seen he likes to start out every game by declaring "I have so much shit to talk to you about today; number one... etc".. By midgame he might start commenting on the game anyway he's kinda funny I guess.
Chill = "uhm, I'm not really sure what's going on right now..." usually indicating the player is doing something horribly wrong. According to chill every player in every game ever played are deviating from some strange norm that apparently only chill is aware of.
Artosis = Perfection. Is so passionate about starcraft it shows through in all of his casts. Brings lots of relevant insightful comments on the game all while keeping up perfectly with the minimap.
I agree with the Day9 part. Caster are suppose to talk non-stop, but somehow he gives the impression that he is "talking too much". And I don't like the sounds he made too. It was OK at the beginning but now it's getting a bit annoying.

i think hifriend has a crush on somebody. also i think both artosis and tasteless did a good job considering how poor the matches were hopefully in the later stages the games will be more interesting and exciting to watch
|
I love Tasteless and Artosis, but I was very disappointed by their observing skill. I think they should just see what korean casters see, which will help our English caster to concentrate on talking while we can hear same reaction from audience. You all know that reaction by fan is big part of joy in Korean leagues
|
Hmm, I just got the combined ticket. No vods of 2set and 3set for either match, I guess they are simply not up yet So you might get them for free.
Yea quality was not the greatest, but once they see how many people are watching and hopefully are getting tickets, it should improve quickly.

I am sorry you don't enjoy good casting but why is this thread going into who's a good caster and who's not when most of the people saying "yadda sucks" don't know what they are talking about? :S

I just got my ticket too sweet

man i wanna see IdrA take this man itl b awsome if he doies Zerg FTW baby!!! and IdrA FTW!!!

Artosis and Tasteless are fine as casters. Keep in mind that it is difficult to cater to the hardcore #1 Diamond division player and someone like your girlfriend at the same time. They aren't perfect, but they aren't terrible.
While there were some serious technical difficulties today with GOMTV, the entire spectacle of the GSL has made me even more excited for SC2, both now and for the future. The extravagance of this event made me realize that there is potential for successful esports in America. Hell, the prize pool of the GSL is greater than the prize pool of PBA bowling, which is shown on ESPN nearly every Sunday. Starcraft 2 may never take the place of football or basketball, or even hockey, but it can definitely bring in money. Really, promoting such a huge tournament in the USA could propel it even more into the mainstream. First a CNN interview, next a finals match on ESPN2?

See, in a way I completely agree with all of this, but its also why I can't stand artosis as a caster.
Overdramatisation/nonsense/wierd noises/HTOTHEHUSKYHUSKY/TheChillConfusion are all substantially more exciting than boring old artosis with his run of the mill "this is what's happening" style. I play starcraft. I know what's happening. Give me something interesting.
|
I also think Artosis has the most intelligent and insightful style- definitely my favorite caster as well.
|
Well, those games (and stream) were less than spectacular.

Is there anywhere to view the korean casted versions of the vods?

Wasn't tasteless controlling the obs? Hahah, yeah that moment was pretty hilarious. I think it was Tasteless, and then they switched permanently to Artosis' screen (which unfortunately had much worse gamma colors). But I did enjoy it a lot, a good laugh. I mean, it's the first broadcast of this league, many things didn't work well. They'll fix all this eventually and it will look super-professional, enjoy the chaotic fun while it lasts. ![](/mirror/smilies/puh2.gif)

Despite the inevitable bumps, I found the stream very enjoyable. Awesome casting and really interesting games. I can only imagine how much hard work it would take to keep something like this afloat.
