lol, they conceded. I will be buying the $20 ticket, but I have to wonder if this wasn't part of their plan all along. $20 is still a pretty hefty price tag.

I'm not sure if this has been posted somewhere else or if it is just assumed to be common knowledge from the BW days but what constitutes 1 season? Is the 19.95 just for this upcoming tournament or will it be for the rest of the year?

It's for the whole year.

That's not what I was told in the other thread. And gomtv's website even says season 1 only lasts 1 month.

I thought 19.95 was for one season and there are like 3 seasons in a year. or are you saying that 19.95 per season pricing will be available all throughout
|
i am happy with such communication by gom and the reduction in pricing for service. so i bought the pre season deal

I think if you bought the first season before they changed the prices you can either be reimbursed or opt for getting all the 3 seasons left this year, the 19,95 currently offered is ONLY for the first season, no mas!

I don't think I will ever pay to watch any type of video game tournament. Maybe because I don't live in Korea, or maybe because I use my money on other things...like food.

I don't mind, spending money on entertainment is perfectly normal. I payed 7 bucks to see Inception in theater rather than waiting to torrent it. Same deal with watching this.

So, I got the premium after the change. Seems that the quality might be higher then advertised.
This is what I get after paying:

I plan to get premium because of the price change

W/e i enjoy watching it but i will not pay money for it. Worse comes to worse i still love BW.

I still dislike GOMTV lol. Their recent decision to offer free streams should be taken for granted. And how magnanimous of them to offer a high quality (read: shitty quality) one just for 20 $. This is still a joke.
|
you know, 50 down to 20 now is more than 50% discount and if that can't work for you, then you simply cannot be pleased. they also offered a free solution for anyone who does not want to pay. plus how often do you get to have your community's voices heard with corporations?
edit: the issue for alot of people were that it was over priced, having to pay for stream and vods separately, and streaming quality. first two were addressed and 3rd in the works according to TorcH. You sound like a person who just wanted HQ stream and vods for free.
|
The only reason why Gom set that ridiculous $50 price on the whole package is so that they can lower it later to seem like the good guys that listen to the community. No other BW/SC2 league charges for live streaming or VODs. Who the fuck does Gom think they are with "the best multimedia player in the world".
|
The real issue now is a matter of how watchable the streams are. It's a nice step in the right direction in terms of pricing ... but if the free stream is unwatchable by most ppl, then it'll be sad =(. And from what I hear, the higher quality paid stream isn't particularly that much better watchability-wise. I guess we'll see once GSL starts and ppl report back as to the quality of the paid stream.
