+ Show Spoiler [Week 3 Recap] +
Oh my goodness what busy weekend! This week was pretty hectic for some of the players, having to juggle the nation wars and two other huge tournaments running around the same time. (And of course the SC1 OSL finals was running too, which every true Starcraft fan will watch! Just ask Ice and his 6 pool in the SEA finals inspired Jaedong play lol.) The first tourney was of course the massive blizzard SEA invitational tournament, which alot of the nation war players were involved in. The other tournament was the cybergamer qualfiers #1. Whats worse was i was playing in them too lol. Anyway the show must go on, i just needed to sit out the cybergamers tourney this week, no biggy there are 3 more qualifiers. I want to first give a big shoutout to THANAPOL KUARCHART! + Show Spoiler [SEA invite results] + Blizzard will probably do a more detailed write up on how the invitational tournament went soon. Anyway, on to the nation war matches!
Because of the busy Sunday, the Australia vs Thailand match was moved forward to Saturday so national stars like glade, indy, redarchon and legionnaire could play. And play they did!! The top stars really put on a masterclass, with glade doing some innovative amazing baneling drop play, something rarely seen, against the strong thai, SuperCheap and his collosus builds. Random player SeMu beat thefool convincingly and the solid Starcraft1 superstar Legionnaire did the same to thai star Indy, with one game even going to mothership usage! With Australia up 3:0, it was time for RedArchon to lay the smackdown and win at least a set of games for Thailand. However, Australia was in trouble because there weren't any other AU players online at that moment. However, after deL's suggestion, the Thai manager graciously allowed Legionnaire to play again for Australia in the final game. This is of course not an obligation, jumpman could have just walked over and taken the point and that would be in the rules and i would be ok with it so i really respect his decision to let legionnaire play so the fans could see more games
The map was no other then the ISLAND map debris fields! RedArchon basically showed why hes #1 on this server. Final score, Australia 3, Thailand 1. Shout outs here go to Tenz and Kelly, who casted this match which peaked at over 400 viewers, RIGHT AFTER they were done casting the Blizz invitational games. Epic 11 hour casting stint. Poor kelly said she didnt have time to eat all day and just had time to brush her teeth. Kelly you got remember to use your husband to help u buy food etc! like chrono boost! So anyway mad props to tenz and kelly <3. Also, thailand and the world had a first taste of thai casting sc2! http://www.livestream.com/notynote did really enthusiastic thai casting with over 70 viewers probably all thai. I coudlnt understand a word but i could share his passion!
The next match was the Singapore vs Phillipines match. In case you didnt know, there was some unhappiness among the PH players saying their best weren't playing. So new manager Kclolz stepped it and reformed the entire team to produce a spanking new PH! Well known Singapore Warcraft Orc Tagan aka 4 gate master, played first on the interesting island map debris fields. What would a 4 gate master do on an island map? 4GATE LIKE OBV! Haha anyway Tagan won his games pretty concinvgly 2:0. Also playing his first match for Singapore was anavar (aka Ravana, a 3 time Singapore WCG gold medalist for DOW/C&C). Ravana managed to take down Zhasz in some closely fought games 2-1. With the score currently being 2:0, PH was not looking in good shape. However, things were about to change! In sweeping sucession, weechoochoo and zhasz(same situation as AU so he played again) managed to take down Hghx and rev of Singapore, in games both with 2-1 sets, thus tieing the score at 2:2! The ace match was then played, with Singapores honour depending on Tagan, and PH pride depending on... none other then Zhasz!! After two games, the score was tied at 1-1, bring us to our first ACE match in an ACE MATCH!! Oh my god!! In a thrilling final game, with Mezzas great casting and 120 viewers on the edge of their seats, 4 gate master Tagan then proceeded to "mix it up", by 4 gating OBV! and showing why hes the best 4 gater on SEA lol. Singapore wins, 3:2 and is nearly upset in a very closely fought series. With PH awarded their first point from having gone to the ace match.
Indonesia and Thailand went pretty smoothly, with solid commentating by railgun aka DFM. They started at the same time as the Singapore match so i couldn't follow it but it ended up 3-1 in Indonesia's favour with of course Vietnamese star RAMBOLICIOUS fried chicken taking down IND manager WakemeUp for Vietnam. All the games in this match ended 2-0!
aka RedArchon. Its my hunch that in thai when its translated, the DarkArchon unit becomes RedArchon so thats why he calls himself that lol! Amazing job he did, For winning the SEA invitational, coming from the loser bracket no less to beat ice 4-0, and also his nationwar match. He played very well and basically dominated the SEA ladder over the last month and definetly deserves to represent SEA

if you are reading this, please keep me in mind if you are considering any new positions in the Singapore office to help the SEA community develop
I will definetly do alot of coverage and generate new content regularly for the SEA community. Off the top of my head this could be stuff like top player like glade/redarchon/ice/oxy LIVE video interviews, organising nation tournaments or server wars like SEA vs USA, on the scene event coverage thru an SEA perspective, "a day in the life of ice@home" video weekly features, lots of stuff which i'm sure will add value to the SEA community and help it develop and grow further
