Believe me, we did way more than just sending him an officially approved invitation to the event. We would have loved to see Brat_OK attend the event but in the end he simply did not get his visa and therefore had to cancel.

How is that going to work? they will most likely have a dedicated server from blizzard there, like they had in the past for WoW.

Or would he immediately get his ID/visa checked at the event/elsewhere in Germany? Wouldn't he get border checked between Poland/Germany, I know the last time I travelled between the two I had to show my passport etc. Though whether that was before Poland was in the EU I'm not sure.

http://www.esl-world.net/masters/season5/gamescom/sc2/groupstage/results/ Here you can see the whole schedule. I just updated it so it might take some time to show correctly. TheGunrun from GLHF.tv will cover matches that are not shown on ESL TV by Day[9] & d.Apollo. The replays of the other groupstage matches that are not streamed will be uploaded instantly after each map.

Anybody know anything more about the briefly mentioned Intel Extreme Masters American Championship in New York City in early October this year?? I would really love to be able to attend, I work for the Delta Airlines and get free flights so I just need to know when and where as early as possible so I can get work off. I'll be checkin back often for more info!! Get me some super cheap Delta tickets for my holiday in the US and I'll tell you exactly when and where the American Championship will be! ;-p

But even that wouldn't work out because there is still a quite high chance that his papers would get checked on the way appearently. http://www.esl-world.net/masters/season5/gamescom/sc2/groupstage/results/ Here you can see the whole schedule. With Brat out of the tournament I think Idra has really great chances of taking it all the way.

As a Schengen country your passport (or identity card) is only systematically checked when entering via air or sea, you are not systematically checked when crossing borders between Schengen countries by land/rail So a visa for e.g. Poland + a Schengen visa I think would have worked, and it's possible/likely that it was tried (I don't know since I wasn't involved), but I guess time was against him, as has been against many other players before
