If the number is 48 and using single-elimination, then the 4 seeds can come in 3rd round. 1st round: 48, 2nd round: 24, 3rd round: 12 + 4 seeds. Or bump it up to 56 people and the 4 seeds can come in 2nd round. I think a double-elimination tournament will be more interesting, but there's so many participants involved. Might be a headache to setup an optimal bracket ^^; | ||

I got curious so I did some more calculations... So if my math's correct; assuming there's a 3rd place match and using single-elimination: - 48 players + 4 seeds on 3rd round = 52 matches - 56 players + 4 seeds on 2nd round = 60 matches If round 1-3 are BO3, quarter and semi-finals are BO5 and finals are BO7, we'll be seeing 138 to 200 games. If all games will be casted and this tourny is done at the rate of HDH1 (2-4 matches per live cast), it will take around 20-30 casts to finish. So depending on the cast rate, this event can last as long as: - 2 casts per week: 3 months - 3 casts per week: 2 months - 4 casts per week: 1.5 months I suggest HD & H to cast separately (or invite guest casters to help) for pre quarter-finals, otherwise you may be overwhelmed by the number of games you will have to cast. | ||

Like teko said, a possible bracket format (60 players) would be to have the 56 people (4 seeded do not play first round) and then the 2nd round the seeeded players come in. That would make sense to me.  | ||
