They aren't really imba. If a terran goes for battle cruisers, I'm usually quite happy. Of course it is a bit situational but they are defiantly not op.

PvT was pretty uninspiring, terran pretty standard turtle with hellion/banshee harrass, didn't even need ghosts, meh. HuK really should've won game two though, TLO supply blocked himself quite a few times. It's a shame Huk didn't sacrifice an obs or two to scout better. Moving all the zealots with his archons back and forth and generally getting in the way whilst trying to defend against the BC's didn't seem to be very helpful either.

I have an 24mb connection and for me they work just fine. I'm from europe though, not sure if there is a difference.
But for those it isn't working properly, just download the file to your computer

I'm also having problems watching the tournament VoDs, though I'm able to watch the daily ones just fine.

Edit: Scratch that - it's ONLY Intotherainbow vs Dimago game 1 that's not working for me.

Dimaga isn't very confident against terrans. I don't blame him. Pretty much impossible unless you take a couple of chances that go your way, or guess/scout every tech transition.

I'd have liked to see Sen in this tournament. He's an animal and the only zerg in the world who can play straight up ZvT and get away with it. Only zerg I've actually seen make a comeback from being at a disadvantage in ZvT.

I think Cool and another Zerg showed some awesome ZvT play the other day on one of the Korean streams. I would love to see more of how he did it and if it wasn't just as you said taking the chances that were provided instead of created.

In can honestly say, i enjoy Husky much more than HD, even if he might have less knowledge, but, as a shoutcaster, which he refers to be, thats exactly what i expect.
Some _entertaining_ commentary, kind of reminiscent of those korean commentators, screaming like there is no tomorrow.

You cant honestly compare Day9, who does analysis for the more hardcore-sc2lers (which i deeply love him for <3), with husky/hd, doing it for the broad youtube-community, perhaps encouraging more people to actually play/watch starcraft than any other recent commentator.

Sure, its not nearly as profound as Day9, but otherwise, it does not have to be.

I really enjoyed those 2 games. Very "passionate" cast. And exactly what i expect of him.

But well, i guess its kind of the approach you take watching different commentators. Expecting a day9 everywhere is just plain stupid. You all now those persons are damn rare.

I think it is bad, because people watch them and then have no idea how to actually play or understand how to play. Sure it maybe entertaining but you need to also know what you are talking about or you are just misinforming your audience, you don't have to be as technical as day is but at least not just yell stuff that makes no sense for the game.

Honestly, its not the you tube community that has kept BW or will keep SC2 popular and evolving for years to come, it will draw people in but will they stay actually contribute to the community and make it better?

Korean commentators are for the most part like (P)Nal_rA former players of some sorts they know what they are doing more than any foreigner.

Day9 is definitely a way better caster in terms of what you get out of it.

About korean commentators, I dont understand a word of korean yet I love to watch VODs straight from the match with korean commentary. They add a level of excitement even though I have no idea what theyre saying. I'm not sure if someone who just started would be the same but I'm sure lots of people listen to the original korean vids.

Also there is a huge amount of youtube vids out there with english commentary for BW. I have totally forgotten the names but people like Klazart, uhhh forgot the rest. People still upload VODs to youtube which is a great contribution to the community i think(I watch matches that are too early/too late in the day/night on youtube usually).

Read the first page of this thread. Most of the games are already played.

I wonder what will happen in the next matches though! Only 2 hours left. First casting day had some pretty sick games.

Tasteless combines the best of both worlds, imo Great commentary and excitement in one package. Looking forward to him casting again.

All of the casters we have are great for one simple reason: They add to the community.

Comparing HD/Husky to Day9 is like comparing steak to quiche. One is simple and enjoyable, and one is complex and enjoyable. Both food, both good, but for entirely different reasons. All of my friends who are just getting into the SC scene for the first time are avid HD and husky followers. I am more drawn to day9 for various reasons. The bottom line is, both do an assload of work for the community and both deserve some respect for it.

Pictures for giggles:

(Sorry day9, I know you love steak. Forgive me.)

ONTO FAR MORE IMPORTANT MATTERS:

Predictions for tonight's games?

Idra 2-0 Tester

White-ra 2-0 qxc

(These predictions aren't based on who I think has a higher apm, a better grasp on mechanics, or any other sort of analysis, but rather who I think the cosmic energies of the universe have chosen to win tonight.

my predictions are idra > tester 2-1 and qxc > white-ra 2-0, i think idra been practicing his brains off and i don't think anyone but tester can give him a run for his money, it'll be a great match up for sure! and i think qxc will beat white-ra just due to how strong terran is atm.
for there to be pro there has to be noob.

Im thinking white-ra will 2-0 qxc .... but the idrA vs tester, i don't know. the last time i saw tester he rolled he looks like the top sc2 player right now. i think idrA has a shot if he is at the top of this game.
